I hope they improve it in the 2025 Camry. I tested Honda ZRV system and it impressed me. And the screen were way better than this. It showed multiple vehicles around the car (left, right and front) including cars, semi trucks and motorcycles. This didn’t detect that motorcycle and it not showing left and right to it. You just gotta see Honda ZRV to understand what I mean. This looks trash compared to it.

What year Camry is this and what version of Safety Sense? My 2023 Tesla Model Y dual motor, with full self driving (FSD) is better than this Toyota system. With the newest version that I have, (12.4.3) the steering wheel nag is gone if you're not wearing sunglasses since it uses eye tracking. Here in Northern California, the FSD works pretty good with the occasional error. The trade off is not as long of range with electric car vs hybrid. What's great about FSD is it can drive pretty much on any road with proper lane markings, including back county windy roads. It also stops at lights and signs. I do still have to look out for potholes and objects on the road.

What's the point of this system if you have to touch the steering wheel every 10 seconds? Is it designed to make driving easier? It just stresses me out more.And this resume button…. Why it can't start automatically
@1001cars
@1001cars 10 месяцев назад
Usually it is no shorter than 15 seconds (on highway for example). The reason is law of course, the system has to call the driver to keep his hands on the steering wheel from time to time. The same thing with automatic start after long stop.

I agree, I find that these ACC systems have a long way to go and are more anxiety-inducing. It's much easier to just stay alert and defensive as a driver. What a novel idea. These systems just lead to more laziness and can lead to catastrophic accidents. Remember, radar does not detect stopped objects nevermind phantom braking!

Having used Volvo Pilot Assist for some time, I can say that these systems are very useful than one could imagine even if it requires one to hold the steering wheel. During long drives, one just needs to hold the steering but not actively steer. This takes a lot of steering correction work away from the driver. I will never buy a car without this again. Traffic Jam Assist on the other hand is of less importance to me since it doesn't do that economically like a human driver would. It just moves and brakes the car, then repeats that every time.

How is city driving in small lanes and thiny parking lots ? Is the turn angle easy to handle?

Driving is not a problem, parking on narrow parking lots is also easy usually - Camry is not very wide car. Turning circle is similar to other cars in this segment.

Hallo. Can you help me which brand have best assistant ? I want to buy car till 30 000€. I am looking for VW, seat, skoda, kia maybe Toyota does not matter. Which brand have best line assist and ACC for fully autonomy drive. I drive much km on the highway so I want good assistant and I don’t want to drive like a ball on the way. Thank you for answer.

To be honest: on highway there is no big difference. For me, the most important thing is the longest time without keeping the steering wheel and of course capacitive steering wheel. Bouncing between lines was the problem of past cars.

No, it is not. TSS 3.0 is available for Corolla and maybe sth. else, but not Camry right now.

Why doesn't it stay on all the time ?

I do not understand your question. Can you explain?
@joeearly7546

I have to keep moving the wheel or it sounds an alarm, why not just stay on..Thanks@@1001cars
@1001cars

The reason is law in Europe. These cars are not on 3rd or 4th level of autonomy, so they have to alert the driver if he/she does not keep the steering wheel.

There’s a beep if the driver doesn’t touch the wheel after a period of time but it will stay operational regardless.
