Love presentation of your video without the talking. Everything very organized and clear. But watching you do all this without gloves was giving me anxiety. For the love of your hands please wear gloves.
Very informative on basics. However, WARNING TO DIY NOVICES! - the video in places looking up at this job starting at about 5:00 is FLIPED (probably because using wrong side phone camera) it is NOT “right turn loosen” as for example when taking out the drain plug. Just the opposite! Also, if your trans does not have a dip stick (like my 2013 Camry), the refill procedure is entirely different and important to get right. Others’ on RU-vid can show you that. I recommend the “CareCare Nut’s video for that. Again, very informative and easy to follow and I’m sure very helpful especially in its suitability for a range of spoken language viewers.
Good job, bye Filter and Gasket, drain the rest and clean up the perimeter, new o-ring and gasket, clean and check bolts, scrub the pan. At least you did not forget the magnets to collect fine metal particles. Back together and remove that Socket used a a spacer so you could drop the pan. It's going to take plenty of fluid.
2004 Camry calls for ONLY using Type-T-IV fluid. This is according to the manual, and everywhere else I've looked. Am I missing something here? From what I gather using the wrong fluid, or mixing fluids is a big no no.
Wonderful video! What is the torque value of 3 long bolts for the filter? What are the torque values of 16 shell bolts and the torque value of transmission bottom bolts to the beam, which you removed for more space? A newbie is unlikely to have a proper hand feeling for tightness.
What metric hex socket size are the trans filter bolts? The trans pan bolts are like 10mm, it looks like? Are they both 10mm (long for filter, short for pan)?
Here in the USA , the thought is to drain ATF every 30000-40000 miles . Some are doing a " passive flush " , I believe it involves . Disconnecting the hoses from the transmission cooler . Vehicle running , one hose suctioing up new fluid to force the old fluid out of the other hose . And I would always change the filter , what harm can come from it . And when should you be changing the filter . There are those that say " drain and fill " , nothing else necessary .
Hi. After completely draining the trans oil and replacing the filter, how much of oil should you add for Toyota Camry 2008? I put in 5.7L and the car started missing gears (4th and above mainly) so I took out 500ml. It's still slipping gears. How much should I have in there?
For the 2017 model corolla CVT transmission, the service only changes the oil every 80,000 kilometers. Why is there no filter change? Do you not change filters for these models?
Very helpful video! Sir i have 2010 camry, the transmission is not changing to S gear when it does it's automatically changes to D back and when it's neutral changing it to D the whole car shakes or the car kinda jumps what should i do? Please let me know thanks
I was just wondering how many quarts of transmission fluid should I pour in after a Transmission Flush and Filter change... Is it 5-7 quarts? Also, did you use some sort of grease on that O-ring, if so which type of grease. Great Video...
@@MayoCarsDR I did yesterday as you did, thank you!! I would say it's important to remove that engine mount screw from the top too, not just the 3 from the bottom
It appears that the drain plug bolt is reverse ( left hand thread ) when I watch you remove it clockwise. Is this correct or specific to your country's import? thanks
I have camry transmission serviced on 80K. Now it has 333K do you think is it normal to flash the transmission fluid or just keep it as is, since it has no issue ?
hello sir, question, does the filter really need to be changed? I have a 2009 with 221k and I had it flushed at Valvoline at 149k back in 2019, this time I want to do a drain and fill by myself. Car drives fine but would like to know my options. Mostly highway driving. 64 miles a day. Thanks.
Yes, the transmission oil and filter should be changed in the same way as the engine, but the transmission oil and filter should be changed after 40,50,000 km.
