The Toyota Hilux pickup truck was finally launched in India today, with prices ranging from Rs 33.99 lakh for the Standard MT trim to Rs 36.80 lakh for the fully equipped High trim (ex-showroom, India). The pickup truck has been available for booking since January, with a booking fee of Rs 1 lakh. Toyota's plant in Karnataka, India, assembles the Hilux from CKD kits. Measuring 5,325mm in length, 1,855mm in width, 1,815mm in height and with a wheelbase of 3,085mm, the Hilux is a barge of a vehicle. It is also a tad longer than its only other rival in India, the Isuzu D-max V-Cross.The Hilux shares quite a few interior trim and switchgear with the Fortuner in India. While the dashboard layout is slightly different from the Fortuner, things like the touchscreen, climate controls panel, instrument cluster, steering wheel and even the front seats are all shared. The all-black dashboard is well contrasted with some brushed silver and gloss black trims. All-LED headlamps, daytime running lamps, and turn indicators, 8.0-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, seven airbags, front and rear parking sensors, electrochromic inside rear-view mirror, tyre angle monitor, active traction control, and automated limited-slip differential are among the features available on the top-spec Hilux. The cabin also excels in terms of functionality, with large cup holders and clever storage spaces located throughout.Under the hood, the Hilux inherits the Fortuner's 2.8-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine with identical tuning. That means the engine has 204 horsepower and 420 Newton-meters of torque (500Nm in case of the automatic). Transmission options on the Hilux include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, similar to the Fortuner.

After unveiling the much-anticipated Hilux lifestyle pickup truck in India back in January, Toyota Kirloskar Motor has now announced the prices, starting at ₹ 33.99 lakh for the 4x4 manual Standard, ₹ 35.80 lakh for the 4x4 manual High, and ₹ 36.80 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, India) for the 4x4 Auto High variants. Additionally, the all-new Toyota Hilux pickup truck receives a 4x4 system for all its trims, coupled to its single 2.8-litre 4-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine option. The Toyota Hilux is offered only in the double-cab variant and shares underpinnings with the Toyota Innova Crysta as well as the Toyota Fortuner. It is spawned by the IMV-2 platform.
