All good BUT no manufacturer has stated in his service book to do this replacement, so what’s their problem with providing the replacement interval, Do they want it to fail,I’am thinking yes they don’t care also automatic transmission fill for life what a joke !! Don’t go to dealers they rip you off , they don’t care After market does such a better job every day !!
Hey bud, Great video, wish I knew this 8 months ago. My pick up was blocked starved engine of oil. Welded 5,6,7&8 conrods to crank😭 394k on the clock. Enjoy your vids. Awesome work
One of the first things I did when I got my 200 series with 105k on it. The mini sump is a pain to get off because Toyota use a bonding agent rather than a regular gasket. I didn't replace anything as everything looked ok but as you mention, having a look inside will tell what sort of life the engine has had.
Good advise, our workshop has been pulling sumps to check pickups for years, leaky seat washers is a sump off no questions asked. Blow by is exhaust soot, wet exhaust soot is nasty and loves your pickup!
Is the plastic oil pick-up accessible from just removing the tin oil pan or is it a motor out job and moving the larger alloy assembly? Referring to a VDJ200
Hi Ian, The savaging pump dose not pick up oil from the sump, the savaging pump receives its oil supply from the turbo drain external to the engine. You are looking at the wrong part. We have plenty in stock genuine Toyota for $30.00 if you need one. Thanks Pete.
