Gotta love that torque! I could only afford a 2ZZ swap but it's fully built to hopefully one day be turbod fingers crossed. Love the build, hell people have even VR6 swapped these cars, it's such a good platform. Does your build have AC?

Yes mine has AC, with a lot of swaps that’s difficult to achieve. 2zz is great, maybe try and find a supercharger from the lotus, may come out cheaper

@@AndysAutowerks my other car is a mustang GT with headers, cat less x pipe, 3” all the way back to flowmaster exhaust. Believe me when I say that the sound of a mini van isn’t impressing anyone. I choose function (power/weight/reliability) over...... form? BTW I have nothing against toyota, my daily is a Prius Prime, again function over form. And I love that car

solara is the e153 which is better in almost every way but cost to fit. the s53 uses the original 1zz axles where as the e153 needs custom axles

2zz turbo in mine better chassis balance and fuel economy, vtec thrill and 320hp at the wheels.

your missing the best swap of them all V6 type powerband without the weight and the complications: The Toyota 2.5 2AR engine. makes almost as much power and torque as your 1MZ, without the cost, and without cutting up the body

2.5 AR is a couple thousand without a transmission, which the EB60 is almost impossible to find now. EB60 can also be used in the 1mz to avoid cutting the subframe. The 1mz and s54 trans can be had for a total of $600. as long as you are doing the work yourself, doubling the power and having the V6 sound is unbeatable at that price

@@PseudoKirby 2ar does not bolt to a gen3 stock transmission... You're thinking of gen2 transmissions. It would be the go-to swap if it did.

Orlan Medina just in case since I got a 1mz fe...Well with vvt-I but that's beside the point. The first things that will break on the engines are the piston rods they're paper thin I think the Pistons are pretty good though. I forget the rods tony used on his 1000 hp Camry but it's easy to find articles on that car. Second these engines usually come with a 4 speed auto some came with a 5 speed manual the 4 speed auto may handle 268 before self destructing. so I would suggest getting a e153 auto transmission off a mr2 it'll handle at least 600 hp. Third the engine gets bad oil sludge if the oil isn't changed at the oil change intervals. So essentially change the oil but those are the three big issues I know of but don't let this discourage you. The crankshaft can handle 600hp if not more the inner sleeves of the engine are really good the injectors are at 270cc I believe unlike the 3mz fe's 200cc injectors it has a really good stroke ratio for Naturally aspirated and is a non interference engine. Sorry for writing a novel but I figured if you were to go for something like this I wouldn't leave you without some info.

@@rkxskrilla im buying a 1999 manual transmission camry with 106kmiles seems really clean. Ill be swapping trans and engine. And swapping the 1zz into the Camry to be able to sell it and trying to recover some cash back

Orlan Medina ah yeah I got a 01 ES300 wanted to make it a sleeper a long time ago but I decided to just stick with custom basic bolt ons and the transmission I mentioned. I studied the 1mz fe in and out so I'm definitely not limited on info but yeah good luck to your build.

200HP is not double the horse power. The 1ZZ has around 140HP and getting a whole new engine for under 60HP is not worth it. V6s are also really hard to turbo charge and you need 2 turbos. May as well get a Turbo kit and some injectors on the 1ZZ and you would make more horse power for cheaper.

Thank you for your comment! Allow me to educate you: The 1zz 140hp is at the crank when new, not at the wheels. Dyno test show average hp at just over 101hp. Not to mention 94 torque. The v6 doubles both those figures on the dyno, when paired with a high flow exhaust system. I marketed the v6 NA swap as a budget power upgrade because it is. A reliable name brand turbo is about the same price as a v6 swap. I never said the twin turbo v6 was a cost effective regarding horsepower increase, I think the k20 turbo is best for that.

@@AndysAutowerks The spyder makes around 120-125 hp and around 115 ft-lb to the wheels. Isn't the 1mz doing 210 (VVTi) to the crank? I am not sure just exhaust will give that much power to get you to 200hp to the wheels. Nice work but you are underestimating the 1zz power

you can use a celica s53 5 speed which are like 2-$300. Reuse 1zz axles. I will have a kit out middle of 2023

There’s only two people I know of with a 3sgte Spyder, not so common for good reason. 3s cost is more than 2gr, at that point k20 turbo is a better option in terms of cost, power and reliability. They’re overpriced for what they can provide, nothing special in my opinion.

@@AndysAutowerks Ok, let us know... You were the person that was using 2 Garrett GTX2871 turbos? Those make 350-375whp and 375wtq on a 1.6L 4 cyllinder on 93 octane.

@@AndysAutowerks what parts are you using? And Wich ECU? Any numbers on whp? I'm very excited to get a mr-s and for what I've seen the 2zz is the cheapest/nos realiable but a V6 would be awesome to have, I've seen the 2gr-fe/fse is a common swap but price is out of my range

@@AndysAutowerks you mean the N14 GTi-R which used to come with SR20DET engines? We used to have a few around Australia but now are getting hard to find. My idea is to get something that is already designed to work well with a turbo then you can modify it happily without worrying about engine changes when pistons go sideways. So a 5 cylinder 2.5L turbo charged which also comes with a front-wheel drive biased gearbox only one off challenge will be getting it in there.

Also no aftermarket support. K series has a shitload of aftermarket. So it has way more potential on tap than a shitty old 6cylinder

@@cyruslever586 an “old v6” makes more power for a 1/10 of the cost vs kswap. Kswap mr2 you need custom axles and kpro. The entire v6 drivetrain can be had for the price of the kpro. The v6 is for purely for cost. The kseires also sounds like a lawnmower if you’re into that. If it wasn’t about cost, the best swap would be the 2gr.

@@cyruslever586 the 1mzfe was in production until 2014, the k20 stopped production In 2010 and k24 in 2014. So this “old motor” is actually the same as the k’s dummy. And again it’s about how much money it takes to make 600-700. 2gr is the ideal swap. That’s why lotus used it and not a k swap. You literally got beat on both your arguments, say thank you for the knowledge
