To all people here, same noise described in the vid. Just replaced front pads and used special anti squish pads grease. Then, found a small stone between pads and brake caliper.Caliper was trying to push the pads making that tatatatatatta by pushing the little stone. Now, that noise has def ended
My Prius 2014 make same annoying noise I thought it was the brake pads I changed it but same noise still come up whenever I brake at low speed, the car is still moving well, I have even driven as fast up to 160kmh nothing has happen but I don’t like the noise is embarrassing I wish I can stop it
CV axles. Very common sound on 2010+ Prii. It doesn’t mean it’s failing, because many have driven hundreds of thousands of miles making this sound. More annoying than harmful. If it really bothers you, replace the cv axle assembly
I drove 40K miles with this noise, cannot find what's causing it. It sound like something inside the transmission, it make a clicking noise when I lift the car up also.
My 2016 Prius makes the same noise when I break. It’s been going on for as long as I can remember. Not sure what it is but this car has only had dealership maintenance and they have never told me of any problems. So I assume it’s okay to drive and that’s what I’ve done

Same clicking with my 2023 rav4 hybrid. Dealership replaced both front axles under the warranty. The clicking sound has not returned. When trying duplicate the clicking at the dealer, best way is to drive along a wall and have all your windows down. Any sounds will reflect so the technician can hear it clearly. That's what I did when I drove with the master tech. If tech cannot hear it, he won't fix it.

Glad to find your video, for my 2010 Prius started to make this strange noise. Can usually hear it when accelerating lightly at the speed of around 30 km per hour. The noise never happens when the gas engine is off.
@@pavelp4499 @about 35,000 miles. I purchased the car used, and noticed the clicking noise within a few days of driving it. Replacing the front driver's side axel fixed the issue. This has happened with two different Prius cars.
You all do know that you have a regenerator on the absorbing the energy of your braking right?! Make sure your Mechanic is Toyota certified...your everyday mechanic knows NOTHING about the engineering and tech behind these cars and what anything is doing. Totally normal, just nobody being educated, which is why every 2016+ Prius owner is complaining when they hear it! Tacoma’s do a light ticking in the engine as well when it cleans the carbon buildup off the engine when in idle. If you were never explained this, you have poor salesman, or uncertified mechanic...if certified for Toyota...maybe stop going there...they are not very good then! When I sold these I educated my guests on those specific features so they weren’t concerned. The Toyota hybrids of today are really interesting and unique when you take the time to learn about them. As a Prius driver myself, I can tell you, mine has been doing it for years now and it’s okay!
so I dont need to replace CV axles even with that clicking noises? I went to Toyota dealership today after watching and reading comment this video and the mechanic checked and said everything is fine.
Wait, you say that people and regular mechanics are not educated in the engineering of these cars, but you say it’s totally normal that this great marvel of engineering is making this clicking noise ? Have you lost your mind ?
@@JR-gn9ei It is great engineering. The car is doing its job. Complaining about the clicking is like complaining that your blinker clicks when you turn it on. Not crazy, just aware.
