They’re both good cars but I’ll pick the RAV4 hybrid over the CR-V hybrid mainly cuz it gets better MPG and better looking than the CR-V. The RAV4 looks more rugged n muscular then the CR-V, especially the XSE Hybrid Trim on the RAV4. The CR-V looks more like a woman’s car lol

Honda of course, better space, better driving dynamics. Toyota's are boring with no soul.

Visually interior of Rav4 is more appealing and more "rugged", more practical to me. Interior of Honda feels more "fancy" but a bit outdated, maybe it would look nicer in 2010, but today it feels outdated and overall worse from design perspective and I would also hate it if it gets even a little dirty, where is Rav4 would look fine anyway. Granted Ford Escape loses to both in that regard. It looks terrible in it's interior in any scenario. Exterior of both vehicles looks decent to me. It's not as good looking as Lexus, but it'll work. I looked at off-road tests and Rav4 hybrid was more capable overall than most competitors and better than CR-V (not sure about Ford), but inferior to Subaru Forester (which has abysmal MPG) But most importantly I was impressed with Toyota and Lexus car maintenance experience and they have better track record in the past than most brands. Although I could only compare with Jeep/Dodge and Ford abysmal maintenance experience (in the end their dealerships are useless and I would just use my trusted mechanic), maybe Honda isn't far behind and has similar maintenance experience to Toyota, I might need to research this more. Right now I can get Rav4 hybrid at MSRP and at MSRP prices it's overall superior to Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson and Ford Escape Hybrid because of superior combination of mpg, cargo space, off-road capability and toyota quality and maintenance reputation. Ford Escape is the only one that is slightly more fuel efficient, but just about everything else (except maybe off-roading) is worse vs rav4.

Toyota looks more aggressive, but Honda looks more solid. Gas consumption are very similar, wont be a decisive reason to buy one or the other. Honda is bigger inside, especially the back seats that you did not mention, but Toyota has a bigger cargo area. Honda is smooth, Toyota has more punch… There’s differences between them, but any is so big to be decisive. I would buy Honda, because i am 61 and it fits better to my necessities and driving style. Surely my son would buy Toyota 🙂

You forgot to include the RAV4 comes with a full-size spare tire and the CRV does not.

I will be buying my SECOND CRV hybrid. (I drive a Camry hybrid, also, so Im hardly Honda Biased.). The CRV hybrid is just plain smoother, quieter, and more comfortable, than the RAV 4 hybrid. I do like that Toyota has free 2 years worth of maintenance, not currently offered by Honda, however. Since comfort is my priority, I will buy another CRV hybrid, and pass on the Rav 4 hybrid, again. The push button gear shift in the Honda gives more room than the classic gear shift. Honda has something, also, that is not available on the Toyota's I tried: Automatic door locks. When I walk away, the doors lock automatically, so I never forget to lock the car. I fumble for the key fob with the Toyota's. The decision is what is most important to you? Power? Go with the Rav4. Comfort? Go with the Honda CRV.

I purchased a hybrid Camry as well. I did not like it. I will be trading it in for the new 2023 Crv hybrid sport. My wife drives a Crv and my son has a Accord. Im going back to Honda.

What is power difference between rav4 hybrid ndvcrv hybrid?
@loyalblair4162
@loyalblair4162 2 года назад
The "Honda vs Toyota" war will still probably be going on almost forever, with passionate people on both sides. In the SUV, I favor the comfort of the Honda, while in the sedan, I think the Camry is better than the Accord, as it sits a bit higher and that is important to me. I think Honda plans on copying Toyota's 2 year free oil changes (maintenance), but that may not catch on until 2023. Much of it depends on what is important to you. Horsepower is not all that important, while comfort, roominess, driving ease and saftety reign supreme. I think both Toyota and Honda need improvement in the quirkiness of the infotainment system, but both are very safe, reliable, and have good resale value.

For parents with childen - the CRV-V second row doors open wider - an important difference for those who load and unload infants and small children at every stop. In Atlanta we are getting 43 MPG.

The CRV has more useable backseat space (legroom, headroom, hip, etc). The Rav4 legroom felt more cramped for sure. Package and pricing the CRV EX hybrid is really the sweet spot and I found several dealers at MSRP but the Toyota dealers had markup or you had to may $2K+ for interior protection packages and other add-ons I don't want. It's CRV hybrid for me and we drive about 80% city so much easier to hit near 40mpg.

The infotainment system in the Honda sits way too low to use for navigation purposes with Apple Carplay or Android Auto. Though the 2023 Honda CRV addresses that issue with putting the infotainment system on top of the dashboard.

Nice comparison. The Honda probably drives better, but I like the truck look and feel of the RAV4. If I want a smooth sedan drive I’ll just drive one of those☺️

The 2022 CRV Hybrid increased cargo space exceeding that of RAV 4 and much improved combined Hybrid MPG. I believe in 2022 its a much better option and thats why i got one.
@jw6451

the issue now is that all the toyota dealers near me are either marking up the rav4 hybrid, or (for the ones not marking them up) they are adding $4-5k worth of packages that completely negates the MPG advantage. OTOH most of the local honda dealers are selling at msrp.. i'm seeing a 5-7k difference between similarly equipped rav4 hybrids vs cr-v... with that kind of pricing, i'd get the CR-V hybrid

Hold on! The Honda CR-V AWD Hybrid is not slow. I have the 2022 Sport Touring model. It accelerates about like my 1975 Corvette and 1982 Z/28 did, as well as my 255 hp Cadillac AWD SRX4. Only issue is the hybrid does not easily accommodate hitch wiring. I discovered this after my order for a hitch was not fulfilled by Honda. At any rate, while this SUV does not have drag race acceleration it is brisk enough to easily merge on to expressways. Oh, a few other thoughts, my Honda gets 43 mpg in city which is a big highlight for me but I am somewhat concerned about no spare tire.
