Toyota REVEALS 2024 Toyota Tacoma Final Look!
To promote the release of the new Tacoma on May 19th, Toyota has been persistently teasing it over the previous few weeks. The introduction of a new tough trim level named Trailhunter is among the most intriguing information revealed.
The members of the Tacoma4G Forum used teaser photographs and spy shots to turn what was intended to be the ultimate trim for overlanding into reality. The pictures show the new Tacoma, whose design was earlier seen in patent photos, with a variety of off-road modifications to give it an edge over the TRD Pro, which is already a good vehicle.
Included in these improvements are light bars, a front brush guard with light pods, and a bed rack with a pop-up tent. All of these changes were motivated by Toyota's prototype Tundra Trailhunter, which the automaker displayed at SEMA and which they claimed will preview a new off-road line for upcoming trucks and SUVs. In addition to having a thicker suspension than the TRD Pro, the vehicle is anticipated to have a thicker skin.
Instagram has been inundated with yet another leaked photograph showing the front of the Tacoma. Although it doesn't look much different from Toyota's official teaser, which just shows the passenger-side headlight, we do get a closer look at the car's massive fender flares, which could indicate that it's either a TRD Pro or the new Trailhunter trim.
We now have information on the 2024 Toyota Tacoma's second prominent leak, assuming the image is accurate. We get a full-color look at the brand-new truck from the front as it plays in the dirt, which was allegedly discovered over the weekend on Toyota's website and posted to Reddit.
This might well be the real stuff, according to reports. An official Toyota Tacoma teaser shows headlights. The vehicle is painted a color that closely resembles the official Tacoma TRD Pro trim teaser from early April, as is the image showing it hurling some dirt in an off-road environment. Likewise the first comprehensive Tacoma leak came from the Brazilian patent photos that surfaced in January. Toyota hinted at the veracity of the leak in a social media post for the current Tacoma that was chock-full of Easter eggs. This truck matches those pictures.
Toyota hasn't formally unveiled the 2024 Tacoma yet, however based on all the teasers they've released, we already know a lot about it. For starters, the Tacoma's new rear disc brakes and Fox QS3 adjustable shocks will also be included in the TRD Pro. Even though the teaser only featured the TRD Pro, we have no reason to think that the disc brakes wouldn't be offered on the standard model as well.
The 2024 Tacoma will also replace the rear leaf spring system with conventional coil springs, which is another unusual element for the midsize pickup and should contribute to a better ride. The latest teaser reveals something even more exciting: a manual gearbox option. An earlier teaser hinted that the truck would include a replaceable JBL speaker in the dash similar to the Rivian R1T.
What powers the new Tacoma is something else to look forward to. Toyota's i-Force Max hybrid powertrain will be used to power the TRD Pro, which was also highlighted in a teaser. The Tacoma TRD Pro may be powered by the Tundra's 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 hybrid powertrain, which produces 583 lb-ft of torque and 437 horsepower of power. However, we can't be sure of this just yet. But if accurate, we believe those numbers will be lower for the Tacoma.
It is anticipated that the entry-level versions will come with four-cylinder engines, perhaps with the option of an electrified version based on the Hybrid Max system featured in the Crown sedan and Grand Highlander.
