I do love the styling of these incredibly rare cars. There is actually one in my town but as if yet I've not had the opportunity to speak with the owner.
Loving your work John, it's a great channel you have created. My Uncle has an unmodified one of these sitting in a shed here in Antrim, pretty sure it’s an automatic and has an "overdrive" button beside the gear stick!
Gareth! How are you? Long time so speak. There's some amount of cars in sheds 🤣. That sounds about right with the auto and the OverDrive button. My MR2 currently has the same setup. I really like the Sera, would love to film a barn find one
Nice review John. Great JDM car we didn’t get in the UK either The light in the cabin from that huge glass area is something else. Perfect base for a sympathetic restomod as it looks as if it should have way more power than it does as standard.
Yep but I'm glad they resisted the urge to put too much power through it. 150bhp is plenty. The glass area makes it hot and the tiny windows don't help matters. It's a fun little car though, would highly recommend.
First video I've seen here, so can't really comment on new format but I have subscribed, and.. I did enjoy the review (watching from US) and I love the Sera, never seen one before. Also... the only thing I was kind of hoping to see, but didn't, was a walkaround of the car.. would love to see a bit more of the exterior.. and / or some close-up, in-car video of the dash and dials and all that's inside. (edit, just found a walkaround video on IG, following there as well). It's pretty small tho' for some reason. -------- Lastly, my first trip overseas was to IRELAND and I absolutely loved it there. (22 years ago tho').. anyway I hope my feedback helps and thanks a lot for the video, looking forward to seeing more.
Thanks for the message. The walkaround video got corrupted sadly and I could use it. First time that happened so I'm at a loss to know why. But anyway, you asked elsewhere about the camera I used. It's an Olfi one.five www.olficamera.com/product-category/camera/ They're a small Welsh manufacturer who offer great support. GoPro quality at half the price and twice the customer support. Would highly recommend them. If you want to buy one let me know and I'll setup a discount code. And GET BACK to Ireland, lots of great driving roads!
The Starlet Turbo engine swap is easy and I've done quite a number over the past 15 years. 25hp increase as standard and can be tuned further if you want.
Yep, according to the owner who has done a huge amount of them it's very straight forward. I'll be featuring another car of his soon which is much more highly modified but again using period correct parts.
