Hold your camera horizontally, not vertically. The video is a narrow strip with black strips on either side.

Thank you for kind words, lol. As the title of the video says, “Buyer Beware”, these are items to look for when buying the Van. If you own it already, then you know what you got. Cheers 😎

Its possible the previous owner was rough with it. I had a 2005 sienna xle and I loved it. The dash did have a couple of cracks and the 2 12V outlet covers were gone but I got it used with 175K. I drove it till 305K. I sold it for $500 and it was still running. It was a very reliable van. Everything worked and the interior was nice. Your issues with the sliding door could have been solved with a $30 actuator. I did mine myself. As far as the catalytic converter you can use some cleaner. 2 bottles and the light on mine went out. Main thing to check with the 3.3 is the timing belt. It is an interference engine so it must be changed. Overall in highly recommend the sienna. 5 star van.
@elypeachy3296
@elypeachy3296 2 года назад
I'm reading 3.3L's are non interference with timing belt and 3.5L's introduced in 2007 and onward are the interference with timing chains.
@buickguy1
@buickguy1 2 года назад
@@elypeachy3296 The 3.3L is an interference engine. If the belt breaks you might as well take a shovel to it. The 3.5L with the timing chain should last the life of the engine.

I just bought a 2004 Toyota Sienna with 218,000 miles for 1900 I have the basic LE version it was a good buy the people were honest wasn’t trying to hide anything and all my sliding doors are all manuel not electric they are very reliable

The guy told me he did both the converters but one of them was semi and it needed a oxygen sensor and new fuel injectors and the catalytic code would go on and off and my mechanic ended up fixing everything for very inexpensive I just happen to get lucky and already knew this mechanic

I wish all of them came without power sliding doors! Sounds like you got lucky with your van because the owner was transparent with the issues. Thanks for watching and your comments. Please be sure to subscribe for the latest content. Here’s to 1,000,000 miles on your Sienna, cheers! 😎

I forgot 1 thing look on the side of the driver door and it will tell you where the Sienna was made from it said mines was manufactured in Indiana not Japan could that change the reliability of the car?
@realcarreviews6021
@realcarreviews6021 3 года назад
@@vanmcgee5 Unfortunately, all the Siennas were US built with US suppliers for parts. It’s not the factory to blame, but more of the manufacturing of the parts. Although both the US and Japan have high Quality control standards, Japan is more dominant Craftsmanship and attention to detail of the parts. I lived near Tokyo for almost a year while I was in the military. The culture of attention to detail is incredible!

Should have done the miles per gallon average button ... some Vehicles ,,, as they get older ! get better gas mileage cuz they're burning a little bit of oil in there ...worn in
@elypeachy3296
@elypeachy3296 2 года назад
At that age and mileage you would assume pain, dents, cup holders, etc is the least of the things to actually worry about. I'm thinking if I buy one for 3k I need 8k saved up for worse case scenario of engine, tranny, cat/o2 sensors, engine light trouble codes for smog pass in Cali, drive belt. Noneless thanks for video, gives me confidence in pulling plug soon. Thinking of getting first gen (2002) for simplicity sake, donno if that's a right call thou.

2004 Sienna XLE AWD 642,356 miles and still hauls ass. Easy fix on everything you mentioned. Your mechanic is ripping you off. I still have original cats. Try oxygen sensor or new gas cap. Sliding door cable is only 175.00 and 1 hour of work. I think you're more the 3 series, bmw guy 😂.

Hell my 06 sienna sliding doors don't even work as manual from the inside, I'm and uber driver and I have to get out and open the door for them
@realcarreviews6021
@realcarreviews6021 2 года назад
It it still works with the power from the outside, then it sounds like a bad switch or fuse. If no power works, I would not spend the 1200 to fix it and I would just have the cable cut and do the doors manually. Thanks for watching and your comments. Be sure to subscribe to the latest content. Here’s to million miles on your sienna. Cheers 😎

My 05 with over 200k miles . my only complaint is they all have cracked dashboard. I just replaced the dash myself with a good used one that was replaced under warrantee from another van. Just replaced the original radiator which was still ok. Like with any used vehicles proper maintenance is key to reliability. I have none of the cosmetic or interior issues that your van has. Mine still all intact. Your van looks like it was not taken care off very well at all. Really good used taken care off siennas are out there . Just don't buy the poorly taken care of ones.

161,000 Miles. I have reviewed Toyota’s with higher miles and they were built better than this Sienna. I was disappointed with the 2006.
