Toyota Tacoma fishing rod holder mod tutorial. If you like to fish and own a tacoma this is a solid mod to add to your truck. Please be sure the use the parts list below to get the items you need to put this together. Thanks for watching!
Parts List:
1 - 6" x 18" raw steel sheet from Home Depot
2 - 5/16" x 1.5" galvanized hex bolts (use to mount to bed rail)
2 - 5/16" galvanized hex nuts (use to mount to bed rail)
4 - 3/8" galvanized flat washers (use to mount to bed rail)
2 - 1/4" x 2.5" galvanized hex bolts (use to mount rod holder to metal sheet)
2 - 1/4" galvanized hex nuts (use to mount rod holder to metal sheet)
4 - 1/4" galvanized flat washers (use to mount rod holder to metal sheet)
1 - Berkeley rod holder from amazon

Nice, I freakin love having these on there, so much easier to transport rods around and it keeps eyelets from breaking off on rough roads etc. thanks for checking out the channel really appreciate the support.

If helpful for others, materials list (all galvanized): For the Bed Rail Mount: 2 - 5/16 x 1.5 Hex Bolts 2 - 5/16 Hex Nuts 4 - 3/8 Flat Washers For mounting rod holder to plate: 2 - 1/4 x 2.5 Hex Bolts 2 - 1/4 x Hex Nuts 4 - 1/4 Galvanized Flat Washers metal plate (I didn't catch the size) Drill bits - 5/16 and 1/4 Wrench / Ratchets Measure the Rail Mount hole distances on metal plate. Also measure out different configurations for the rod holder. Drill holes. Mount rod holder on plate. Mount plate to bed rails. Also when drilling the metal plate, please consider clamping the plate. Or at least wear some cut gloves. Holding a metal plate while drilling is just asking for a cut hand. Just sayin.

hey there, that's actually the Toyota OEM bed divider, I picked it up off Craigslist awhile back for like $100. great for keeping things from sliding around in the bed.

This is just what I need. I was leaving the bait shop last night with our 9yr son when I snapped my rods closing the tailgate..arghh. I immediately searched on YT and found your video. I like that I can keep it mounted mostly out of the way. One question...what did you use to cut the metal sheet? Thanks. New sub from Tampa!

Hey there thanks for watching!...damn that sucks, that's exactly why I made these things....So, the beauty of this, the metal comes cut to that size from Home Depot, I believe it was 6" x 18" if I remember correctly it was $5-7, so no cutting required.
