Suzuki is sending fronx to foreign nation with spec of 1.5 ltr engine + High breed version + AWD will their be any possibility launch of 1.5 ltr in India with AWD
@motorinc where's the fronx review video. The only available is comparo between fronx n sonet. Can you please add the links for these videos in video description. It'll also add few views on older videos😅
This turned out so much like a casual conversation over tea, where you start discussing the "disheartening road quality in your area" and move to different tangent like lack of foresight, cheaping out on materials, corruption etc, and in the end circle back to the mutual concern of "disheartening road quality in your area".
@@motorinc content wise, it was great. The time was filled well despite there not being too much to discuss. Touching on the subtle differences between the brands and their current lineup, the perception of the customer and the reality of the situation. Just that there was not a whole lot about the car itself - which is a good thing in this case than repeating the whole fronx set. But since the conversation was more on tangents than the car, it was that less exciting and engaging. Maybe consider shortening the length in such cases?
I really want a fronx owner to get the badges, bodykit to convert it to a Taisor and try getting it serviced from toyota or vice versa. Just to mess with them. :D
A personal request, but can please have Kartikeya talk about the Ignis? We talk a lot about small cars for the city but hardly about the Ignis, it’s only mentioned in passing here and there. I understand that asking Kartikeya to talk about a car that essentially has remained unchanged since 2017 is a lot of work for barely any return. Instead, can we have a ThisConnect episode on what you guys consider are good cars for the city?
24:13 “the chime also makes a difference” - 100% , I can attest to that. My car’s passanger seatbelt warning chime is so loud and annoying that people immediately buckle up as soon as they get in. Now I don’t have to repeatedly ask people to wear seatbelt. 30:30 thank you so much for bringing it up! People don’t realise how important ESP & Traction control are to cars. It can literally save you in an unfortunate incident. Mahindra for all its safety advertisement wasn’t even offering Traction control in their XUV 700 unless you buy AX5 D and above. Now they have that option available from base variant. In a country like India , we need to understand how important ESP is
So a few days back Toyota guys came to my home to pick me up. They wanted to take me to nearest dealership. I get in the vehicle and say to the rep... This is my first time in Ertiga. He says... It's a Rumion. I remained silent through out. 😅
It’s so nice to see the Taisor/Fronx getting a perspective from the Baleno/Glanza. I have a request to the team to cover the i20 and its higher powered N-Line cousin. The car has been the mainstay of the big hatchbacks in India for over a decade and seen multiple facelifts over 3 generations. It used to compete with the Figo, Polo and Punto. And now it competes with newer offerings like the Altroz and Baleno. It’s evolved over time and still managed to remain a default for many looking to buy a car in that segment. Now that it has a 118bhp sporty cousin with an power plant not available in the standard variants, the i20 N-line more than ever has greater differentiation from the family-friendly machine we all know and love, when compared to the Venue and Create N Line.
Taisor will come a full circle for toyota-suzuki hybrid partnership once suzuki launches the series hybrid. I wish suzuki to give atleast a 3kWh battery and an option to plug in charge that battery pack. Also provide a roof solar panel to provide energy for passive cooling when parked in sunlight (cycle the air inside the car). 😂 I am writing these because series hybrid with plugin in option and solar roof has been in my mind since 2014 Also, I vote for google maps to have an option for Karthikeya's and Shumi's voice
Maruti's 2year/40K kms warranty is a masterpiece, both of my A-star and Wagon R suffered steering motor/column issue as soon as they hit 40K+ Kms. It cost me 30K INR for each of the car to replace the whole column, motor and module.
Fun Fact- Many Toyota dealerships across India have been providing discount and offers on the Hilux in which you can get either get 10L off on the price of the top end Hilux or get the Glanza with the Hilux included in the Hilux's price
I am waiting for Jawa 42FJ review from you guys. Even while working in office I happen to watch your videos and it makes me feel relax and suddenly I feel I have knowledge of cars and bikes. Keep up the hard work to your team too.
Also, Just a feed back guys. I felt this doesn't deserve a First episode, maybe a 5min video with only Kartikeya. Now i am expecting Shumi to explain Activa 6G-7G for 30 mins straight 😂
I got a top spec Taisor 1.0 V AT for my mom delivered on the 27th of July, it has run roughly 1,700kms since then. The subtle styling especially in the bluish silver colour I picked really appealed to me and this might be a very small detail but the brake light and how it's encased in a clear lens really won me over. I love looking at it, along with the classier petal design alloys as points of differentiation over the aggressively styled Fronx. The part that hurt me the most was the on road price which comes out to just under 16l including insurance, extended warranty and all. I got a 51k discount after multiple rounds of back and forth with the inept dealer in my town. At that price point we only chose this car cause we were upgrading from a Tiago AMT, needed a small footprint and wanted a TC or DCT only and the Altroz Ricer didn't come with an AT option. For anybody else considering this as their primary car should definitely look at cars like the Elevate or the City once.
@@sierrachief117 I know but I was willing to look past those for the overall package it offered, I drove the NA DCA and although it didn’t feel like a conventional DSG, it was amply smooth and rode well on the highway. What killed it for me was that same lame 1.2 Revotron that I’d been using in my Tiago for the past 6 years. I drove the Ricer MT and even that didn’t feel particularly rev-happy and the gearbox+clutch combo was so bad especially for city driving. The i20 N Line with the DCT was much better to drive although the suspension felt too stiff for someone like my mom otherwise it was available for cheaper with more features than the Taisor.
@@motorinc Thank you! I’m glad that at the very least I don’t have to put up with Tata’s horrible service anymore 😁 Also please keep these episodes coming as I love this series and listen to it on the regular!
I've noticed that all or most badge engineered cars have same no of alphabets between the twin names eg. VENTO/RAPID - 5 SLAVIA/VIRTUS - 6 KUSHAQ/TAIGUN - 6 ERTIGA/RUMION - 6 HYCROSS/INVICTO - 7 BALENO/GLANZA - 6 VITARABREZZA/URBANCRUISER - 12 IS THIS A COINCIDENCE OR WHAT!!
I'm gonna get the Fronx Turbo Zeta Manual to replace my Venue Turbo S IMT. It really suits my needs and my driving style. As usual, awesome conversation.
The Fortuner, though not the greatest of vehicles around, has a certain Charm to it, according to me. Which makes it a priced possession for some people and bullying weapon for some other people. Sure the Innova rides so much better, but doesn't have as much charm as the Fortuner. We'll have to wait and see how the Suzuki Fortuner hold up, if it is coming through.
I believe you have already covered this topic briefly how to handle intricate situations but how do you handle a situation where other party is aggressive and attacking you or your vehicle. Request you to cover if possible.. thank you.
*sees 34 min MotorInc First* "Oh, there's not much to talk about, is there? 😬" Never thought me, with my low- attention span, would be saying those words. Ever. Thanks for that Kartikey Sir and Shumi Sir 🫡😂
I’m in the market for a used hatchback/CSUV to keep as a 2nd car in the garage. Test drove Balenos/Glanzas, and a Fronx as well. All said and done, I keep gravitating back to the Ignis. VERY underrated! VERY fun!
If you don't mind a not in production car i think a Honda Jazz will fit your requirement. Few months ago i was in the same boat and eventually went for a used Honda Jazz CVT. Couldn't be happier. In the city and highway. Very practical. Especially if it's your second car. Acres of space as well.
Please consider making a thisconnect on tires and brakes in great detail. Different types of tyres like radial, non radial, thread patterns, sizes, tyre brands, best tires in segment and their prices, which type of tyre for different conditions, brakes- brake fluid, callipers, axial and radial brakes, braided hoses, different types of after market brakes etc.
Liked how easily karthikeya explained the engine and transmission combos. My parents own a Celerio and service is decent, they call, remind etc so no complaints.
Love your Podcasts as usual and big fan of Shumi sir and Kartikeya sir. I would like to add something out of my own experience of owning an Urban cruiser (no suffix 😂). Bought only because I got a better price during the phasing out stage of the car. Toyota service experience is probably better for actual Toyota cars. I’ve been behind the service centre (Lanson Toyota) for fixing a screeching sound from the ISG, when the idle settles in a cold start or when the car auto starts with the auto start stop function. I seriously doubt if they have the ability to fix it versus a Maruti Service centre. So, the point I am trying to make is, buy a Maruti car when the mechanicals are Maruti’s (GV mild hybrid for example) and a Toyota car (Hycross and Hyryder full hybrid for example). Not sure if their service training is the same for both the counterparts.
The only thing Maruti Suzuki does not offer is the snob value. Everything else is just spot on -the engine performance, fuel economy, reliability, and service network. The build quality of some MS cars is questionable, but you get your money’s worth.
Booked our first family car i20n line n6 manual waiting for the delivery i am sooo excited to put some miles down the highway with family and offcourse my solo fun🤤
It is the candidness that these conversations bring is what makes it special. I don't mind listening to what they feel even if the content is not extremely pin-point. They share experiences which helps us understand the car and our driving better and that's what makes @motorinc special!!
I don’t think Toyota deserves a video on this…rather you should have done a video on fronx and said it’s a rebadged one..I think Toyota is only looking for money and appease the investors ..
I'm going to have to save this one for later - promises to be really fun given that Shumi is the one saying "let's be serious" 😃 Loved the lampooning of the short format "3 reasons" et al thingy. Most of all, great to see Shumi rubbing off on Kartikeya - the meaningless name, and "it's identical to the Fronx, bye-bye" bits 😂
@@motorinc Absolutely! Also, off-topic, the 450 Apex is here. Really like the colour in actuality. Thanks so much for being instrumental in making the choice 😃
@@kshitijpandey6514 It's technically my mom's vehicle, but the idea was that it should be engaging enough for me as well, when needed for errands. Don't know how many "proper rides" I'll be doing on it per se, but we're both already loving it, even as a runabout. I just love how eagerly and confidently it changes direction with just a shift in weight. We both love the compactness of it. Going to PPF the translucent panels and change the black zip ties to orange tomorrow 😀
M thinking of getting Fronx over baleno because of ground clearance I m from a hilly place and the roads aren’t that good, m I going for the right choice?
Dear Shumi and Karthik I have a small request please make all videos available for the public like I can't even watch the ones which are exclusive for all access members only 😢❤
We bought the Glanza in AMT a few months ago. I had test-driven the manual version as well, but we chose the AMT because my brother thought it would be more convenient. However, it's been quite frustrating for daily use. I strongly recommend going for the manual instead. The 1.2L K-series engine is smooth and refined, but the AMT really diminishes the experience. The rubberband effect gets exhausting in everyday driving, and the fuel efficiency suffers too. We're barely getting 12 kmpl in the city.
I think when Toyota asked their designers to not touch those drab interiors, they took it out on the wheels. Reminded me of how Kawasaki did the saree guard on the Ninja 1000. Questions on AMTs : - Do they roll back on an incline? - If they have a hill hold is it automatic or has to be manually engaged like the handbrake? - If they do it automatically then does it still roll back 1-2 feet before moving forward? Asking this because I had come across someone who encountered this roll back in a Glanza test drive and I assume the same for all AMTs.
I call it the Maruti/Suzuki limit. Suzuki is still conservative and they don't want their rebadged Toyota to outshine the primary product. Like you guys said, we expect more from a Toyota product. A slightly more premium interior and features would have justified the Taisor and Glanza. Maruti is the limit because the Invicto is a scaled back Toyota but there's no upscale Maruti on the Toyota side.
I am glad that you points the windscreen wiper... The sad part is that most of Indian market, and especially the 5 star guys, don't even bother about the basic thing like wiper... Even Magnite deleted it from their base model, even though they had made it standard... Hatches, Crossovers, and SUVs should have it
I'd love to hear your thoughts on re scram 411. Despite many flaws like handling (on high speed), suspension, people from US and UK seems to love it. Day 1 of asking a review on scram 411
My family own’s a 3 year old Glanza. We have noticed Glanza is serviced much better by Toyota compared to a baleno! At a lower cost. E.g. Brakes in baleno are squeaky on hard braking, suspension noise after hitting a speed braker at high speed. Not the case with Glanza!
@ 24:16, it would be great if you could also add a chime sound clip, similar to how you include images and details. It's not a must, but it would be a nice touch."
@motorinc If possible, please do a video on dashcams, e.g., whether one should get front + rear, what are the use cases (just to safeguard yourself or to initiate legal action), what specs one should look at (HDR, Starvis 2, number plate readability, GPS, etc.), which brands currently available in India are good.
yo this was a great episode absoloutely loved it thanks for all the information u guys have shared i have a request for Motorinc team plz make an episode on THIS-CONNECT How should u test the vehicles, how should they feel , how long shall you take a test ride etc and all after learning so much from this channel i have learned that being connected to bike is very important , the comfort , the suspension , the chassis etc My father recently bought a bike and he just liked the looks of it and went ahead no doubt its a good commuter but thats for him , when i ride the bike at lower speeds it still okay, but as u touch higher speeds it literally gets the thrills , it cant go above 65 it will shake like crazy and i learned riding on this bike also my dad took the test ride but it was like a small round around the block like hardly a KM and i often see u guys recommending that you should test drive , i want to ask how long should i take or atleast what are the minimum perimeteres which it should cross that the bike can be purchased i know it totally depends on what type of rider u are like , are u agressive , or prefer to cruise at lower constant speeds etc just want a whole guide video on it
Hi guys, I think you missed something important: Toyota being a car maker with far superior reach over Suzuki. So a Toyota Taisor can get sales in Mexico, Brazil or Italy but Suzuki Fronx would find it harder. So badge engineering also possibly for exporting reach is a net positive for Suzuki
Hey Motor Inc! Your videos are always such a blast to watch-seriously, you guys are killing it with the content! Now, I need your expert advice-I’m torn between getting the XUV700 AX7 right now or waiting for the facelift version. Should I pull the trigger, or hang tight for the shiny new upgrade? Help me out before I lose sleep over this decision! 😄
This staregy works well for Toyota and it was perfect reason, In a scenario of economic downturn or get into recession where The core Toyota cars will be selling less and sometimes the Channel partners get into losses, since the operations cost will always there and may not be sustainable anymore and closes the dealership. So counter that Toyota management decided to bring the smaller cars from Suzuki in a fastest way possible to sell these from Toyota dealership and make more sustainable operation, Brilliant. And customers who have experienced Smaller cars are almost automatically Toyota core product customer in future. Atleast now you can see more Toyota car on road
@motorinc patterns my friend Have noticed it over several months 😊😊 I just remember for about a month the comment stream was killing you for not doing the Guerilla 450 and it was the next month, the 1st or 2nd week you dropped the impressions So using the logic and extrapolating it for the cars and bikes being launched I think the next impressions would be the Basalt and then the BSA Goldstar and then the new Java 42 FJ and the thar roxx maybe in between cuz it has not gone on sale yet so.... maybe later My predictions using extrapolation If this is true I will laugh my ass off 😂😂😂
@motorinc monthly usage 1200km 70% city drive 30% highway looking for reliable ,good fuel efficient family car , please suggest between honda city /creta/Volkswagen taigun 1.0 /elevate.
They can absolutely take a page out of their book. But Hyundai and kia are the same company while Suzuki and Toyota are different. Toyota can fix that for sure though.
hey kartik, why not do a review for the MG comet? Your perspective from driving the ignis and nano would bring so much more insight into this. As a current nano owner I don't have any alternative to it but the MG
@motorinc i just want to thank you always replying my same annoying comment on the same matter... I appreciate how well you guys are connecting to the community and your viewers loads of love... I will humbly sit and wait for the podcast... I am curious about... thanks again
Good discussion, folks! A quick question, do you not post these to podcast feeds anymore? I don't see the newest episodes for First/ThisConnect in Apple Podcasts or Pocket Casts.
We don’t have the bandwidth to manage so many platforms. RSS feeds will probably not be updated either. We are working on an alternative solution though - please do stay tuned.
@motorinc does your team get enough credit for the intro AV! It is sort of legit to be iconic and different and pleasant and grabs attention!!! #motorinc (I do not know how tag and hashtag works hence both are there in my comment! Pardon me) Point being super #kudos to your creative team!!!
Good to finally have addressed the rebadging scenario between Maruti and Toyota. I would reach out to Toyota because of the built quality we came to know Toyota for from Corolla and Camry. They can go 100,000+ km without even breaking a sweat. We (atleast the people who are looking at cars from 1994 onwards) cant say that for Maruti (yes, there are S80 still driven by people and they can be kept well), and it is a fact on a global scale, that Toyota are indestructible. So, out of these 6 products from Toyota, Innova is suppose to be a Toyota product. As per discussion are we saying Innova now does not stack up to Toyota build standard?
There’s no real issue with the Hycross. But, the interior quality is a step down. And we have heard of a few rattles and electrical issues. Let’s wait and see.
31:27 Completely agree on the interior experience of the Fortuner and Innova. The Fortuner GR-S variant costs ₹64L on road here in Bangalore, which is atrocious pricing with lackluster cabin experience. You're getting better experience in a XUV700 or a Safari, albeit they're of different sizes when compared to the Fortuner.
If you want sciatic nerve pinching, L4, L5 spine issues or hip issues in a year or two, get Fronx or Taisor. The seat is that soft. Everytime you press the pedal your hip will sink a little deeper into the seat.
Hey TH, thanks for discussing this. Did you have the issue? If so, what kind of usage do you have? Also, as driver or backseat use? Thanks in advance. 👍🏽
@@motorinc I was the driver. This issue is especially there for the driver because of constantly pressing the pedals. The seat doesnt support the spine. So the spine sinks deeper into it. I did experience the hip and joint discomfort after a short drive.

See a 34 minute video on the taisor. I thought in minute one it will be schumi saying it’s the same as the fronx and move on to something entirely different. Fingers crossed as I will watch it later at night, but just wanted to drop this in as a reaction to the thumbnail in the feed. Also please do review the basalt, seeing how much love and frustration the c3 aircross got out of you both am wondering where the basalt tips the scales. Also what’s a seat belt load sensor cost that’s so difficult for manufacturers to add it Edit. Yeah called it right. Shocked by how little schumi mocked them. Did he have a fun ride coming into the studio ans was full of his years quota of Christmas cheer. Cmon we are here for the snark. Fun convo still. Also is the manual badged Maruti?
Enjoyed the conversation so much! Me and my friend are in the market for a sub 4 m cross over. Brezza, Sonet and Fronx piqued our interest. We cant find any long detailed video on brezza yet on the channel although its the top selling sub 4m car. If you guys can do a view on Brezza, that would help a lot of us like me 😊
