These trucks have a lean known as The Tundra lean on one side. To correct that when doing spacers in front there is a 1/4 inch shim available from ToyTec part is $24.99 plus tax and shipping but then you will be truly level when driving
Thanks for the video. Good job. I just completed a 3/1 SST Readylift install over this past weekend myself on my 2021 Tundra. Your video was a great help in preparations. Tip to the DIY folks... have a good jack. It helps to have a n extra small jack or two, plus good ratcheting straps to help get the lower arm back up and in place. also it was helpful to get the whole sway arm off while doing the front spacers (put it back on last when all done). On the rear, make sure you get the rear jacked up 5-6 inches to leave room to drop the axel. Good tips to know when you are working the install in your driveway. An extra set of hands is helpful at times, though I was able to complete by myself. It took every bit of 7 hours from start to finish. Take your time and be safe.
As soon as I heard the comment around the 13:02 mark, I was sold and hit subscribed! Great job, very detailed and showed great work, but the vibe is awesome! Excellent job!
Haha thanks so much man! I try to think of all the question I would have and then answer them in the video so I’m glad it was helpful! Thanks for the sub!
"Don't film the first side shheeww" I subscribed for the honest no BS personality alone! Excellent job. And not one cuss word. I usually makeup a couple cuss words when I pull that much off my truck working on it.
Haha that was spoken out of pure exhaustion/frustration lol oh I’m sure there were a few off camera, but I try my best to not cuss generally. Thanks so much for your comment I really appreciate it!
Dude I love your energy. I did a lift on a jeep before but haven't dared to try my Tundra. This video is so clear and well done I think I might try it. Thanks for posting and enjoy your ride!
Most Tundras have 1/2” driver side lean (gas tank + battery). In other words, your differences are normal. Typically you can add a 1/2” shim on the driver side to level it out.
Great job on all of your how to videos. Love the positive energy. Your videos are always very informative, and understandable. I'm in the process of installing my kit now and all is going well so far. Thanks
Nice video. Planning to do the same to my wife’s new Sequoia soon. Just be careful under there with both front wheels removed. I always throw a chunk of railroad tie under there with me just in case something failed. Be well.
You’ll love it! Thanks for the tip man! I try to be real careful being under there as well. I think I put jack stands under the frame on the sides but if not I will next time!
Yeah I do the same with the jack stands. I just like a block under there bc it’s slightly larger than my noggin and would hopefully catch the weight. lol
If you ever do it again use a ratchet strap to reinstall the spindle bolts. You said you struggled to get them back in. This could help someone watching your videos. Strap goes over the upper control arm and under lower. Ratchet strap will compress the two back together.
That’s a really good idea! Thanks so much for the comment! I used a pry bar to push down the upper control arm and ultimately that made the difference but pulling them both together with a strap would be great too!
Good job bro. You need to jack up the lower control arm to line up the hole and reinstall the bolt. It shouldn’t take more than a couple of minutes. At around 100k, I installed Bilstein 4600’s and they were way to bouncy from the get go. At 150k I installed Bilstein 5100’s which are much firmer and even has height adjustment. I highly recommend the 5100’s once your 4600’s wear out. You can take your riser blocks off too.
Awesome video man. As far as the height difference, that’s likely related to the fuel tank being on the driver side and all the extra weight associated with that.
The difference in height, could that be to offset the weight of the driver that would always be weight in the truck to bring it to equal height? Put someone in the drivers seat and measure again.
Yes sir! Getting installed Monday! I posted a video 2 days ago of my new wheels I got so check that out if you are interested! And i’ll post a video of the new tires as well once they’re on!
Okay, other than cosmetics, what's the benefit of raising the front, a.k.a leveling the truck front to rear? Since virtually all vehicles, from small cars to large trucks, have the front lower than the rear, surely there's a reason for that.
Nice job.and so positive guy.thank you so much for sharing this. By the way do you know what the different between rare and front l mean how many inches . I had 2009 Toyota tundra.
Yeah that’s what I thought too. And the 38gallon gas tank is on that side. But apparently it’s a common tundra issue and they sell a shim for it... not a big enough issue to deal with I don’t think! Thanks for commenting! Subscribe if you’d like! Have a good one!
Hey KC thank you for all the videos, they helped me out big time. I just placed my order. Getting the pro comp 3/1 and also the 295/70/18 on the falken at3w. The rims I wanted to get are sold out right now, so going to put them on the stock 18' for now( hope they going to fit). Wanted to double check your new rims offset are +25 right ? P.S. YOUR TRUCK LOOKS SWeEEeEeEEEt !
Dude that's awesome! These tires have been incredible in the snow I have been so impressed! Yes my wheels are +25! Let me know how you like it when you are done! And thanks for the compliment I love it for sure!
@@kccreations5945 since the wheel I’m looking for are still sold out. I’m thinking on putting them on with the stock 18 for now. You think they will fit ? And how do you like the ride with the leveling kit ? Is it bumpy at all ?
@@johnnymui7464 They will fit but I'm not sure if you'll get more or less rubbing than I had when I installed mine. I have had some guys say they have the stock wheels with a couple inch lift and 35's and have no rubbing, so I can't say for sure. And the ride is great still! The front end is a little stiffer but still very comfortable!
After watching this im definitely not doing this myself... he started at lunch and ended in the dark! Front and back could be done at a garage in two hours.
It definitely wasn't lunch time but it took me probably 4-5 hours, but granted I got stuck on the spindle bolts for like two hours but got the other side completely done in like 45 minutes. So it was a learning curve and I filmed everything. Saved a bunch of money and was able to work on it myself! Thanks for watching!
@@kccreations5945 i wasn't saying you were slow. Im saying I would need a three day weekend if I was going to attempt it! Good job.. your truck looks great.
Its definitely intimidating at first so you're not alone there! I did a lot of research and watched other's videos before hand as well to get an idea on how to do it. But the kit I used came with a super detailed instruction manual so honestly that was super nice to have as well. At the end of the day it's just removing bolts and nuts and putting them back together so if you know where they go it's not to bad! Let me know if you have any questions!
@@mwaaaagner I finally was able to do it by putting a pry bar above the upper control arm and forcing it down as well! Took me 5 hours to figure that out the first time…
I think it handles about the same. It's may seem a bit stiffer up front but not bad in any way. And it was aligned no problem by the shop. I added bigger tires to the lift so check out that video, but I would say I am down a couple miles per gallon. Hope that helps!! Make sure to subscribe if you like the content!
I took me 8 hours to do a similar lift / leveling kit on my 4Runner. The front was a pain, and it was the exact same process. It was rough, but it makes my 4Runner look like it should.
Thanks so much man! It rides great! I think the front end may be a little stiffer but it's not uncomfortable by any means! And I haven't had any issues! Thanks for watching!

I was wondering how you like the ride and whether or not you had to do anything for a diff drop? I plan on following your great example and would really like to talk at you for some pointers however I don't know how to contact you. Looks great and I am hoping that everything is still intact and working properly as well as not to really stiffen the ride. We ordered a 2021 Tundra PRO and are hoping that this is indeed your model.
Hey Frank! I did install a diff drop that came with my leveling kit. It's not super necessary for 3 inches but I figured since it came with it I should do it. I think I noticed my ride being a little stiffer but only over big bumps. Other than that you don't notice it! my email is kccreationsyt@gmail.com if you have any more questions!

Well shit. I didn’t realize it was that easy lol. I have a 2021 tundra. It’s cement as well. Guess I’ll be ordering a kit soon. What about the sway bar end link after you put the spacer on
I don't mean to poop on the vid. Just input. I can olmost guarantee if you do anything that resembles an abrupt impact like hitting a speed bump too fast with those spacers on your stock trd struts will collapse and the warranty you may have won't cover it cause u modified. Thatl be $500 from dealer .... each time, and it will keep happening
"I don't mean to poop on it" but then you did anyways lol They have worked great for the last six months with no issues at all. When the shocks go bad I'll replace with a different suspension, but there are no issues at all and the spacers are designed for this set up so it's been great.
@@kccreations5945 I didn't mean for it to sound like your vids weren't great. You do an awesome job I guess I'm just hoping to save someone from going through a busted coilover. Your not going to do much real offroading w that but people will see that extra clearance, then fit bigger tires and try and it's not the right way it's going to break. If it sounded negative it's not on your vids just the concept.
@@chriss6154 Fair enough that makes sense. I will definitely be upgrading when the time comes but it was a good way to get the aesthetic I was looking for without replacing practically brand new shocks! Thanks for the comment I appreciate you explaining what you meant!
Yes an alignment is a must after doing this since we loosened the lower and upper control arm bolts which have a cam on them for alignment. So I used a paintpen/sharpie to mark where they were initially and tried to get them close when I reinstalled, but the new height throws it off a bit as well. So better to get an alignment than ruin expensive tires ya know?! Also at Firestone if you buy the lifetime alignment it's like $200 and a one time alignment is like $100ish so it's worth it to just do the lifetime alignment and get it done each year.
It was a while back but I think it was like 5 hours…. But that was with almost 2 hours of trying to get the spindle bolts back in which if you watch that part and do how I showed it doesn’t take that long! Lol
It may be a tiny bit stiffer up front but very slight. I have really enjoyed the set up. The person you spoke to may only recommend a 2" in the front if you aren't doing rear spacers to give the truck the right look. I did 3 in the front and 1 in the back so at the end of the day it'd look the same lol. If your goal is to put bigger tires check out customoffsets.com and search the wheel and tire size you want for your truck and you can see what size lifts/leveling kits guys used to fit that particular set up. That is how I decided on mine! Hope that helps man! Have a great one!
I didn't need to! Some guys had to do that when they run 12" wide and don't have enough offset. My tires are 295/70 R18 with a wheel that has +25 offset.
@@kccreations5945 Thanks for the fast response. Last one, did you add the spacer for the front transom and skid plate? I am about to order the kit and noticed it has it but not sure if it is necessary.
i have rear airbags for towing heavy. i tow a 10k lb boat with about 950 lbs tongue. i was planning to do the 3 inch front lift only as my airbags do lift the truck rear even when empty as i leave about 5psi in them when not towing and about 40 psi when towing to level her out. do you think this 3 inch kit will be bad for towing that much?
I have a video about to come out about something related to it. I haven’t had any issues with it. I have had a couple loose bolts that make some noise but I need to get under there and re-torque everything. But the lifts has been great!
It’s a leveling kit. It leveled the truck so it did exactly what it was designed to do, and made it look better in my opinion. Also increased ground clearance, approach angle, and tire size. All of which make it better.
@@kccreations5945 ok. You made things 2% better. You could have made them 50% better if you used a proper 2in coil over lift in the front. More wheel travel, which is much better than a marginal improvement in breakover angle. As far as approach angles go, get a high clearance bumper.
Thank you for the video. Did you have to loosen the bolts that hold the lower control arms to the frame? In a lot of videos they loosen these but I know they affect the alignment as well. Just curious. Thanks.
Hey Tim! Yes I did loosen them a little bit. That portion starts at 3:38 in the video if that helps! It's definitely tough because they are torqued at like 120 ft. lbs so they are hard to loosen but just make a mark on how they are aligned then loosen them slightly. Then once you are done you can realign them and then take it to get a proper alignment asap. I get mine done at Firestone because you pay $180 and you get lifetime alignments for free after that. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the reply. I missed that somehow in the video. I currently have a leveling spacer in there and wanted to simply switch coil overs (new as the original have 149,000 mikes on them), so didn’t want to mess the alignment up on it. Does the thing you marked actually rotate and then while tightening the bolt, you just hold on to it so it doesn’t rotate/ move. I’m guessing you have to loosen each side separately as I don’t think it’s a bolt that goes all the way through with a nut on the other side? Or is it? If you can take me through the process in detail then I can do this job and not take it in. FYI they want $400 to install the coil overs here in the Midwest. I imagine it probably takes them 45 minutes of actual time to do it.
@@timvolcheck6445 No problem man. That''ll be a good upgrade for sure! It will rotate if you don't hang onto it because it is a bolt that comes through with a nut on the other side. So you can loosen it a little bit without it moving but in order for the lower control arm to drop enough you'll likely loosen it quite a bit and the cam piece will move which is why it's important to mark where it sits originally. It's kind of tedious trying to get it tight while not letting it move but just be patient and you'll be able to get it close to where it was before you took it off.
@@kccreations5945 I have done it without loosing the control arm but you need to fight it a little more. I use a long strong pry bar to force it down and works. But I’m guessing it’ll need an alignment either way.
@@kccreations5945 yes I have that as well. But there’s 3 little spacers specifically for the skid plate, so that the skid plate doesn’t touch the differential. I’m sure they were supposed to be installed by the shop that did my lift but when I removed the skid plate to do something trimming, I noticed there were no spacers and they used the original bolts. If you look up the 3/2 ReadyLIFT for the Tundra, you’ll see at the bottom of the kit they include those 3 small spacers as well as the 3 new longer bolts.
@@stay4theride Yeah I see what you're talking about. I added those to mine. Check out my skid plate install video and I show it! Let me know if that doesn't help!
@@kccreations5945 I be put a sway bar drop on mine and I’m feeling every lil bump I the road and a lil vibration may ur the sway bar back to stop and see what happens
Hi Jorge! I would say the ride may be a bit stiffer and you can feel the difference in the accelerating and decelerating a little bit because these particular tires are pretty heavy. But in terms of handling (cornering) I haven't noticed a difference!
I did add the differential drop! I don’t think I filmed it. It was relatively easy, but at this 3” height some say it’s needed and others don’t so I’m not sure what’s best!
@@kccreations5945 Thank you brother I have a 2016 and I installed a 2 1/2 bath top country I think it was but the spaceship goes inside of the screen doesn’t go on top what do you think about those
Hey Marc the lift has been great! And my CV angles are great too. My kit came with the differential drop kit so I installed that which mitigated any poor angles. But I have seen many people do it without the diff drop with 3” lift and have no problem!
@@marctripp4827 yeah it’s been good man! I think it was a bit stiffer after I installed the lift but the ride a year later feels great and I wouldn’t hesitate doing it again!
Hey the kit is PN# 65225K. It's a 3/1 lift and it says it's only for 2007-2011 Tundra's but it worked great for my 2019. The tires in this video are the factory 275/65 R18. But my new ones you can watch the video on are 297/70/r18. which are 34" tires. Let me know what you think!
Hey Mike! I did do a differential drop because it came with my kit. It’s pretty easy but getting the nuts on top of the differential was a real pain, but other than that it’s easy!
Yeah. I bought this same kit after seeing your video. I struggled in the same areas you did, and almost gave up on the diff drop, but luckily I was able to get the nuts on. Thanks for the informative video. It really helped me out!!!
