This video is about the latest generation Toyota tundra recently Toyota announced a huge recall with possibly over 102,000 Toyota and Lexus products being recalled with the V6 turbo engine. There was metal debris in the engine recently. Toyota changed a part pretty quietly that could resolve the issue but some 2024 models are affected and they’re not included in the recall and we’re also going talk about some current customers going through the recall, and even some mechanics are getting tired of it

I’m having the issue right now. I brought it in yesterday. I have a 24 limited and the truck was in park and shaking. Eventually the check engine light came on. I found out my tundra was built in dec 23 in San Antonio according to the service manager. Even the mechanic said he hopes there no metal shavings in the engine. It only has 7,000 miles and got it in January

As a former Engineer that worked in the Automotive Industry for some time, you never buy a new design of any vehicle especially when a new powertrain is introduced! If you recall Honda introduced a new engine for its CR-V several years ago and as expected the new turbo had several issues with it. It took Honda some time to fix it but it’s primarily over with now, so the same with Toyota. I have no doubt that they’ll fix the problem and get it right. The sad part is that governments set unrealistic emissions targets for manufacturers and it’s forcing them to design smaller engines that are turbo charged. The new engines will work however they won’t last as long as the previous larger engines, but then the government doesn’t care about the consumer 😢

The tundra is amazing transmission is smooth and frame, body is tough. The power is unreal and excellent for off-roading. Also the efficiency is excellent. They will fix the issue and I am not worried just like they did with the head gasket on previous model! A legend in the making! It will be the best turbo engine ever made watch and learn how the best handle these recalls! They stand up to the issue and never have let the customer eat the cost! No Toyota is not perfect but them owning the problem makes them the best out there!

Toyota's reliability speaks for itself, b/c Toyota always took care of the customer. Yet, some channels/ comments argue to never talk about any issues &/or potential issues. IMO, these two things can't simultaneously exist. We need to keep manufacturers honest.

The recall should’ve happened over a year ago. Thanks for watching !!

Toyota's not being honest. Also, know that experiences are being bullied to be hid. Whether it be Toyota directly, distributors, dealerships, channels, creators or owners. If they included the 2024s, they would have to fix everything on the lot before they sell them. That’s why they’re not included in this first recall. Mark my words, they will be also recalled. It’s a shame I wanted to buy a new Toyota tundra, but I’m not giving up my 2017 limited to have engine trouble. I’ll keep what I have.

I’m hearing that it may be a design flaw in the turbos… something about being placed in the lower back of the engine and the trucks coming in (24s) are trucks under heavy loads such as towing. I’m hoping this is not true. Hoping Toyota has figured it out and will release some updates soon. I have a 24 purchased in late 11/23 w/a build date of 9/23. I’m worried. 11,000 miles so far and not towing but want to a small 25 footer Airstream.

It's a design issue. Toyota claims to have fixed the debris issue in Feb of 23, but 2023 & 2024 Tundras are still failing. Supposedly they have now changed the front main bearing, so we'll see. I wouldn't touch one.

I respect what you’re doing, but there’s not a need to “spread the word “. Owners have received their recall letter. What you’re doing is creating a panic in some owners who are depending on RU-vidrs to give them info vs Toyota or actual tundra owners. It’s still a new truck with glitches that will eventually get worked out as they always do. Earlier models had issues as well. And ALL new models are gonna have kinks. They are still selling because honestly it’s still a good truck. I would rather have a recall vs the manufacturer ignoring their customers like GM and Ford. I really feel like it’s being blown out of proportion with these type videos. My 2022 has been flawless since day one and not one issue. If by chance my engine blows up, at least I know they have me covered. Granite it could possibly inconvenience me for a while, but its not coming out of my pocket

ROFL they’re not fixing shit. Go read the tundra group. Once the dealer replaces the short block, and it grenades again, YOU get stuck with the bill. An entire long block is the only “fix” I would accept.

Toyota is LYING, and yet people are so in love with their fanboy identity that they go back to Toyota like an abused woman goes back to her cheating husband for MORE abuse. Brand loyalty is a really sick pathology. I would not TOUCH these disposable trucks.

The sale are high because it is the best thing out there. No matter what is wrong with it, Toyota is going to fix it like they have done for ever new generation they come out with. I pray to God my Tundra is affected. Because I know I am going to get a new engine and an extended warranty like previous volunteer recalls. This same engine is in the most expensive Lexus models. You think there are going to let those $100k vehicle just brake down? When Toyota release a new engine, it is 10 years min before it is replace. And when it is replaced, everyone is loving it and is scared to death of its replacement. This is no different. Get a spine!!!

I do still like Toyota , but the new products that are coming out maybe in a few years, but as of right now, I’m not a huge fan of them like the new Tacoma and the new 4Runner coming out But I think it’s because they did such a good job on the older gen’s And this is what a lot of people think Toyota is still better than most but with the decisions they’re making, some are starting to look at some other brands

@@WheelsandWalletsthe older versions of these vehicles had issues too… that’s the part you’re disregarding. Toyota has never been perfect, but they fix their issues. Did you know they were replacing entire rusted out frames on 10 year old gen 2 tacos? Did you forget about the many issues the gen 3 taco had for several years after it was launched? Even my ‘22 had a drive shaft recall issued on it and I had to leave it at a dealership for a full day to be inspected (no defect found). I now own a ‘24 Tacoma, so far, it’s an awesome truck, and if something goes wrong, Toyota will fix it. Why not give actual statistics instead of hearsay and anecdotal evidence. How many tundras or Tacomas have actually had major issues? What percentage of vehicles sold and on the road are breaking down? If you don’t know, then you’re doing the same thing every other RU-vidr out there is doing “spreading the word.” I’m not denying that there are issues, but presenting anything other than facts is clickbait, pure and simple.

@kevinbradley8613 Yes, I know very well about the Tacoma Rusty frame issue. And that’s not the only issue Toyota had the last gen tundra had an engine issue, and I will give Toyota credit. They did take care of the rusty frame issue, And let’s not forget the huge issue with Corolla’s, and Camry burning oil Now, when it comes to Clickbait, Clickbait is if I put a title up in the video subject is completely different I understand no manufactures perfect but I hold Toyota above all the other manufactures, and it’s just my personal opinion because I was such a Toyota fanboy. I think most of us can agree they shouldn’t have made the Tacoma a turbo they shouldn’t have made the tundra, a turbo, and they should not make the 4runner a turbo as well.
