Toyota Tundra Truck Build - Ron Burgundy 

Did NOT need to see this. Just picked up a 2003 V8 last month.

What a cool build! Also, the cinematography and editing seems to have come a very long way from just a few months ago. The videos are really looking great. Y’all are killing it!

These trucks were almost invisible for the past 15 years. I didn’t think they were anything special for the longest time, but lately I have seen a few that look great. The size of is perfect. Modern halfton trucks are huge and the simple older Toyota engines are cool. Nice project!

This is a real world build with real timelines. Always take longer and more parts runs than anticipated. Thanks for sharing real life struggles.

I'm really envious of your friends. I've watched you and Fred on Dirt Everyday and I always said YOU were the fabricator and Fred was the front man, now my opinion has been proven. Your projects are always interesting and they are educational as well. I really would love owning Fred's flat fender Jeep though .

I just got a 01 TRD Tundra absolutely loving it. Just got skinny 33s and Steele’s and a 2.5” OME front wth icon 1.5” AAL in the back, need a new leaf pack. Full custom drawer system and need to source or trade a bench seat cause the captain chairs aren’t my style

Have you ever thought of portal axles on a Toyota/Lexus rigs? I like the fact you leave all the factory angles and suspension(I you want) plus you bolt on a 38-40” tire without regearing. Werewolf 4x4 check them out. Only issue I see is that they’re in a war zone in Ukraine.

Got a 1st gen that just passed the 300k mark, these trucks truly are built different. It's only needed front shocks, and a tensioner pully outside of routine maintenance in the 120k I've put on it. 👍

Slotted upper control arm...bad idea...ads shocks...good idea...solo motorsports anything...good idea...no spindle gusset...bad idea...no upgraded steering...bad idea

I'm actually in the market for this era toyota truck , have been looking at SR5S and tacomas , now I'm slightly more interested in the tundra.... just wish they came with a stick .

Is that ARB bumper for the 2nd gen Tacoma modified to fit the first gen? The only ARB bumper I can find for my first gen tundra is the uglier version with a bull bar, Sahara bar.

Love my 05, but I've noticed it has a TCS that can really suck when offroad in snow or deep mud. Anybody have experience with disabling it?

Funny my Tundra is about the same setup when he pulled up the 5100’s are a solid build starter. I plan to do the ADS shocks and uca as well they are great trucks.

Was watching puddins fab shop and he found the chevy luv from season 11 episode 9 in a junkyard. It actually started right up

Just a bit of knowledge, but the first gen tundra and tacoma share a lotta suspension components.

What kind of front end axles did you install? I missed that info. Steep angle CV Boot axle shafts? Made by?

Personally I always run a E rating on my 1500's sidewalls hold up so much better when airing down and bashing.

The first tundra’s were good looking trucks. Unfortunately after that not so much.

Wicked cool dudes.... I own a 2005 stepside with 3.5 leveling kit front and air bags in the rear. Anyone interested in a stpside bed around NHlet me know, I replaced my original one had a couple rust holes after I pulled the liner out, Nothing that couldn't be fixed up, Sporty looking, make a comment and we could figure out a contact. Not much 😊

So......a straight axle swap is next year's upgrade, right?

It's crazy how a first generation Tundra looks to be about the same size as the current Tacoma? Good rigs, don't see them built up too much.

When installing tight bushings, freeze them for a day and they’ll slide in a ton easier

Kinda surprised arb dosent make tundra parts they love yotas in Australia

This truck is so cool its a nice looking truck in perfect shape, its comfortable and can be daily driven but its also capable where you can use it off-road, just an awesome rig. Its not a dedicated trail rig where its loud bumpy and not something the wife would go to town in but definitely not a Mall Crawler either, and no offense but its not another Jeep, everybody buys a Rubicon puts a lift kit and 35-37's on them. This is different, practical and really cool plus you can take the wife out on date night in it. Winning!

I bought a set of ADS shocks for my 3rd gen Cummins. Haven’t received the rears yet because I opted for remote resi on the rear too. Can’t wait to get them installed and charged up to see how they handle.

I need some guidance.... I have an 02 Tundra, 2wd AC, with bilstein 5100s at the top notch. I recently installed the SOLO MOTORSPORTS LCAs and like this truck, my front end is down about an inch. This was unexpected. My goal was to fit Flaken 34" tires (285/75/17). I already trimmed the front bumper due to the wheels forward 1". (Cant affird an after market bumper right now) Ive desperately been resesrching for a quality way to get the truck level again and cant find a good option. What would give a normal truck a 3" lift, only will give me a 2" lift based on how im understanding my situation. I was considering bilstein 6112s and then going up beyond the recommended notches as an option. What did you guys have to do? I really need some measurements and numbers to work with and some advice. What was the actual "lift" that you ended up needing in order to get that truck level? Any coilover set up recommendations that will get me there? Im reluctant to use spacers but not completely closed to it. Please help! Thanks for any tips you can give me.
