Thanks for the video. I am cracking my heard on getting the cover opened. It will be great if you can let me know the tools and method to remove the cover.
Thank you for viewing, I dont know any other way, my method of opening the top cover was, slide a very thin metal about 10mm wide into the gap between outer(black cover) and the top plate(transparent) and start to try break their bonding in the bottom end of gap edge. after some try the top cover just break off from the bottom cover. need to do it slowly, dont want to break the whole cover, just want to break the bonding part at the end of the gap. hope this help
See 0:23, The glue is at the sides of the clear screen box. I slotted in with a Stainless Steel Scraping Tool between the clear screen box and the black frame. After many times, I broke the glue but not the frame. Then from the back of the battery compartment, the whole clear screen box assy can be pushed out via the battery tag. The screen assy is with a few plastic parts snapped together, can be clicked open with a small screw driver or penknife.
@@peterhale4525No. They are not tight fit. The step 1 to break loose the glue for the screen is the hardest. After that just remove the parts one by one.
I just peeled off the spoiled silver reflector but careful not to damage the glue on the glass. Then laminated a layer of kitchen aluminum foil. It works so well almost like new.
@@peterhale4525 No. You don't have to add any polarized film because it is still on the glass. Just peel the spoiled silver reflector carefully but not to damage the glue and other layers.
