These are an incredible value for home use. I purchased 2 of these to replace 3 ubiquity Unifi AC Lites in my home. The coverage, range, stability and performance of 2 of these access points is significantly better than the combined 3 unifi AC lites they replaced and they are much cheaper as well. I ended up selling the AC lites. These access points are a hidden gem.
I have also bought a couple, just waiting for them to be delivered. Have you set them to have the same SSID name ? I am hoping to use the two units to give better coverage; one at each end of a stone built house that previously had very poor wifi coverage. He mentions the Omada software in the video, guess I'll have to use that to configure a two AP network.
I purchased the TP-Link AC1350 today for my home use, and I am very grateful that I found your video clip on uTube, as I was struggling to get into the configuration of this access point. I was wondering if you could kindly explain how to set up a STATIC IP address. Does one do this through the AP or the router I am using. A short video clip on this will be very much appreciated. Will it also be possible to explain the functions of VLAN ID, PORTAL and ISOLATION. I wish you a pleasant day and good wishes from Sri Lanka
Does it include a power adapter for the PoE injector? The injector is useless without an actual external power adapter energizing the PoE data out port.
hello i was of the tp-link ac1750 omada AP I'm also looking at the 1350 AP but i have a large house when all of the family comes they use all of the internet up but other than that did you do any thing with your router to accept the ip address ( DID YOU DISABLE ANY IP DEFAULT) thanks love this video do help a lot simple but this what I heard thanks
Can you still keep the Wi-fi on the existing ISP router or does it need to be set to Modem mode? I wanted to keep my existing Wi-fi for down stairs and the extender for upstairs. Is this possible?
Hi David. Thanks for commenting. Yes you can still have the WiFi active on your router and add this as an extra access point. What you might fine is issues with device handover between access points. However short of purchasing an entire new system such as the offering from unify then that will always be an issue. If you take a device between floors you may have to disconnect and reconnect to the WiFi to get the best performance. Hope that helps
Can we allow guests to login via Instagram too? As we see that it is mentioned on Facebook WiFi support page that it allows login in through Instagram too but we are not getting any clarity in it. So please confirm the same.
Hello I had a question, please help If i use the Access Point TP-LINK TL-WA801ND_V1 Wireless N300 And use an outdoor parabolic dish instead of access point antennas, to send the Wifi 2400 MHz frequency, how far can I receive the frequency 100% without loss of quality ???
Hi, have you any videos on your pfsense setup I'm about to set one up myself and am a total novice. Interestingly I am going to be using this tp link AP. so thanks for the great video.
Sorry I don't and I have move away from pfsense to ubiquity now. For no other reason than I like the user interface move. Good luck with your building. Loads of good videos on RU-vid
I'm in the process of installing one of these in the upstairs of my home. Depending on how that goes, I may ditch may present extender and add one downstairs. But I'm hoping that with my placement, the single upstairs unit may be sufficient for the whole house. What sort of indoor range are you getting with yours?
Hi Tim. I have now switched over to Unifi AP's for no other reason than preferring the GUI. However when I was using this unit I had good coverage right throughout an average sized 2 bedroom flat. There is lots of variables when it comes to WiFi range so your mileage may vary.
Very cool. this is cheaper than the Ubiquiti ones on my local Amazon. It's just for home use 4 users on average with a bunch of devices i think you might have sold me on this one.
I am familiar with Ubiquiti products as well. This product is an excellent alternative, especially for home users that are more power users than most. I have had mine for almost a year now and purchased another to extend the range. Wonderful product for the price.
Is there a way to set this AP up simply as an extender for my network? I have this installed and I’ve played with the settings but it will only let me set it up only as an access point with its own SSID. I just want to be able to connect to existing WiFi and have this unit extend the range of my WiFi.
@@Markandrewsays I set it at with same SSID and password as my router. My devices automatically jump between whichever unit is providing better WiFi signal
So not as a repeater ya sometimes giving it the same name can be problematic with devices switching automatically it can work but you are generally better off naming it some thing different of just ad AP to your name or if you use several of these they can all have the same name because they will actually manage which one you are connected to instead of your phone or whatever
Why is my TP link router not seeing this as a mesh device option? I would like the auto switch option to the best signal between upper and lower floors.
Simply add another access point. You can run another ethernet cable to the additional access point or use wireless mesh mode. Wireless 'repeaters' are not the best solution as they often lack a dedicated antenna for the 'repeater' signal. Due to this flaw, 'repeaters' will often degrade your signal and perform very poorly in comparison to a proper wireless access point setup.
Ok you went from solid green light to some web page, without any explanation. Well that is great for all the tech savy folks but for the rest of us you just left us in the dark. Thumbs down!
