Try manually choosing different LTE bands and see which one performs the best. That's what i did to maximize speed with my MR400 (cat4 LTE). On band3 for example 1800MHz sometimes i am getting up to 80-93Mbps download. Sometimes, less, like 50Mbps. Worst is 30Mbps. Band 1 2100MHz went up to 55Mbps max, band 20 went up to 25Mbps max, but it's coverage goes very far, since it is 800MHz. So yes, do not leave it to automatic and choose the band which suts you the best, from the webGUI. PS: And try fixing the device vertcally high on the wall and setting one antenna horizontal one 90 degrees from it, vertical.
excellent clear video. Would have liked a speedtest from a phone with the same sim card then popping the sim into the router to check for any difference.
Ignoring the 4G aspect of the reviewed router; if a 3rd party router is used to replace, say, a B.T. supplied one, is there a configuration process (of the replacement router) to get it to work with BT or is it simply "plug 'n play"? In my case I have a separate FTTP modem with a WAN socket.
I'm trying to connect my first Wi-fi router using ethernet cables with this exact model. When my computer is plugged to the modem there is no problem. But I cannot get the router, when plugged to the modem, to share the internet with any other device. It just says "connected without internet" on the computer. Is there a problem with the router or are you only meant to get the internet from a SIM card. Thank you very much for any advice.
thank you for your review. you think this one is more sensitive in getting cellular signal from distant tower compare to cheaper tp link MR variants? just want to know if i get same speed vs cheaper tplink 4g routers like MR200 or 100. thanks
Hey hi, I wanna start streaming on Twitch. Mostly gaming livestreams in good quality. Is this a proper router for that? My building's wifi is just the worst so I want a router (and simcard) to get my own internet
How does it compare to your smartphone's 4G radio? I'm curious how different it is. I know each case is different etc., but nevertheless still interested. Cheers!
LOL! I imagine those speeds are avg 4g in most parts/city areas in UK. I get 4g+ lte 160/45 minimum and 300/? all most all the time. Finland is Funland
hi mate decent vid that, my wired router coming from copper phone line is only reaching speeds of 40mbs the kids are screaming cos there gaming is pants, quick question ,im on ee (best reception by far in my area)4g contract on my phone n when I test the phones mobile broadband speed in a sweet spot in my living room I can get roughly 100mbs speeds if I buy a decent dual band LTE enabled mobile router and put a 4g ee sim init ,will It get better speeds than my mobile phone or will it be roughly the same,? if the speeds are decent my kids will be able to game better and I will cancel my broadband deal, any advice would be apreciated.
Hello sir, I'm going to get this router, but does a LTE Advanced SIM Router has better significance than LTE SIM Router in an area with LTE only? I am in an area with LTE only. Thumbs up for the video!
You are testing the SIM and not the router. The maximum I get on this router is about 120 Mbps. With the same SIM on a CAT 20 device I get about 150 Mbps. So I guess the maximum is at around 120 Mbps.
