One of my favorite TPIR episodes of all time - I even taped it - hands down - the models giving Drew and George a taste of their own medicine! The other one is another April Fools Day episode - from 2009 this time!
Rob was on the show, I believe, since last October after he won a contest (through the show) that was looking for a male model. I didn't vote, but I kinda like that he was chosen.
The fact that Bob wouldn't have so much as allowed the models to be heard speaking during the show, let alone host it as an April Fools Day joke during his tenure makes it all the more enjoyable to watch with Drew. It's nice to see ''Price'' trying new things, as it keeps the show fresh and interesting.
The models and the gentleman did such a good job taking over on April fool's Day on The Price is Right they did so good they need to do another one another takeover God bless you are and your family's God bless
I think that this and the 2011 episode tied as the best April Fool's episode. I honestly thought that the 2011 episode could never be topped, but this episode definitely came close (I honestly liked them both equally).
That would be interesting. I wonder how he would handle hosting a show like this. The last thing I'm aware of that he hosted, and I could be wrong, was "Weakest Link". He did pretty good at that.
I loved it. I thought they all did a great job. Drew and George were such good sports about modeling, they were a hoot! Rob is very talented, although he seemed nervous, but I think he's got a lot of potential as a future host.
I wish that Janice Pennington, Kathleen Bradley, Chantel Dubay Beck and Holly Hallstrom all took over TPIR for a day of Models Rule and the same could've been said for Doug's TPIR with Julie Ciliani, Lisa Stahl and Ferrari Farris
I think Rob Wilson should take on hosting duties FOR REAL! He seemed like such a natural on this episode... That sort of 'knack' that is reminiscent of Bob Barker himself... Rob Wilson for next host! :D
Amber to me was the most amazing announcer, and did pretty good as host too. Rob did a good job as host too. I think they should do this again for a week, and I'd like to see Rachel on it hosting one segment.
No surprise Amber performed well here. She was a cast member in the scripted MTV series "The Hard Times of RJ Berger", which ran a couple of years before this episode, so emcee and announcing duties are right in her wheelhouse.
Ehh, not sure about that show. If I had my way, I would think more along the lines of a certain game show that was my favorite back in the day. A certain show that was also filmed at the Bob Barker Studio...that could also be a CBS revival...that had a certain red guy that made you say none of them... Oh, the hell with it, I am hoping they would revive Press Your Luck already. Maybe Amber could fill a role like THAT!
***** i like the way you think! However, we gotta give a certain someone the slip before we can get this idea up and running. He'll screw that plan up if he directs.
***** i do agree though, Amber should put her foot in the door of a mostly male-dominated career, because it's been done, there have been plenty of female counterparts to do a good show. Betty White, Brooke Burns, Summer Sanders to name a few.
And you'll never see another episode like this, now that the producers of TPIR have decided to use a never-ending series of "guest models" and you'll only see one or two of the regulars per show. Boo-hiss.
36:39 I don't blame Gwendolyn for how she looked reading Tiffany's showcase price. Drew would have had a much more agitating tone. However I too was really hoping for no double overbid on this episode also--they almost had a double overbid. Another $750 and there would have been! Over by $633 on the runner-up's part, ouch. I am glad her opponent didn't throw in an extra $750!
There isn't always a 58, but did you know the top middle number is usually the current season number? Last season was the Season 41, so the top middle number was 41 most of the time. The previous year, the top middle number was 40 most of the time. Sometimes this number is right.
When Drew first took over the show from Bob Barker, the show seemed so different and I wasn't sure if I liked the change. But Drew has made it his show with his unique personality. And having come from a comedy background, I think the show is more fun. I can't imagine an episode where the models would rule when Bob was the host, but this episode was so much fun, and I think everyone had a great time! Bob was a wonderful host, but Drew has added more fun and whimsey. And it's about time they added male models to the show.
That one car at about 22:00, the "Toyhoa Yarrus" Drew was briefly putting all his body weight on an open door. That is really bad for the door, you could warp the hinges on a modern car that way.
Technically, if we were talking about number of years on the show, I believe of the current models, Rachel was on the longest followed by Gwendolyn. Although I have a pretty strong feeling that you possibly could be talking about age here in that case, you would be correct about Gwendolyn being the "senior model"
This was one of the best episodes I loved it when Amber,Gwendoline ,Manula and Rob took over and Trust me when drew finish hosting Rob should take over and Amber do the Announcing she good at it and hosting too why don't drew have a couple of weeks of let the models host and let George model he was better at that then Announing he alright at it but I think he should be In the models shoes for a few weeks if that was allowed I would love all of them uploaded I'm from Australia and thank u!!!!
