Hey Cowboy! Is it a hard matter to fix a speedometer on a 2005 Chevy Silverado. Sometimes it works, other times it don't and I have to guess at my speed. Thanks in advancianado! Holeay! lol
The first thing I would do is either use a GPS unit on the dashboard download a speedometer app into my phone and stick it somewhere on the dash. That particular vehicle I'm unfamiliar with the electronics and how the speedometer works. Most likely it has an electronic speed sensor. The dash speedometer probably runs off of the ECM or the cab control module. If it is just sketchy at least check for loose connections or any corrosion and stuff like that. Especially loose ground connections. Sometimes everything can look perfect but not good enough ground will kill an engine.
You still putzing with that awesome diesel? You keep it up to snuff and it will keep you safe and out of those monthly payments for a new piece of junk .
Yes I am! I have more parts that I don't have time to put on either. That was done I did manage to replace the window switches. They had been acting up for years and after squirting a little silicone spray and then they completely quit opening the windows. But at least they didn't leave them wide open. I bought some cheap foreign-made switches online but at least it works now. I didn't go cheap on the throttle position sensor because as I believe I explained in the video the original equipment and most aftermarket are junk.
