Good. But not at its best. Blackhawk, Joe Diffie, Marty Stewart, Kentucky Headhunters, Patty Loveless (late 80s/ early nineties), Kathy Mattea, etc. that's a little better than this. .... I remember doing this song for a talent show my high school was hosting. This song reminds me of my dad. When I was young, we lived in a house that used a wood stove for heat, so during the winter he and I used to go to the mountains to cut and haul wood. It was always early and when this song came out it always seemed to be playing on the radio when we would be driving up to Wheatfields mountain before the sun came up. It was always cold and miserable but I loved every minute of it because it was one of the best times of my life when I actually got to spend time with my dad as a teenager. I miss those days!
