Thanks for the tips! This video helped me go from a 1:40.2 to a 1:38.6. I'm not consistent enough yet to run low 1:38's every lap but hopefully with some practice I'll be able to qualify for my license! I'm so slow 😅
Vielen, vielen danke für diesen Ausführlichen Guide, hat mir enorm geholfen meine Lizenz diese Season zu machen und meine persönliche Rundenbestzeit deutlich nach unten zu korrigieren.
Thanks so much for a comprehensive and informative video about Misano. Although I’ve managed to get my SA over 80, my lap times are about 3-4 seconds off the required pace for the licence. And I wasn’t able to find any time and was struggling to find any ways to improve. But having watched this, I’m now convinced that with a bit of practice I’ll be able to get there and get the LFM licence. Thanks again 👍🏻
This fabulous, love the in depth explanations and physics. I would definitely watch a follow-up analysing the epic Valentino Rossi/Martin win at Misano if that idea pickles your interest!
As you know yourself very well how amazing your work is; I often wonder where is the point in telling you 😅 I always liked going to school and studying. So I still enjoy listening to your lectures. Thanks a lot for making this awesome content available to us!!
Great explanation! Out of curiosity I just went and applied the first corner entry, before that I was doing 41-42 times, and then immediately after a couple if laps started to hit mid to late 1.38. holy cow, and that's just one corner applied. Needles thanks, hopefully I'll get the license 😂
took me around an hour to learn misano (before watching this) and get my license with an average of 1:36.8. i gotta say, i quite like the track, but in the beginning its hard to remember which corner comes when, since they do look kinda similar
Great video. I think your way of explaining racing technology is really great. I've only been active in ACC for about 300 hours, so I'm a beginner, and my fastest lap was 1.37. But Misano hasn't been my focus yet. I'm curious to see how I can improve with your analysis. In any case, it's now clear to me why I throw away the car at one point or another. 😂
Much thanks for this detailed track guide and walkthrough. Appreciate how you unpack the reasons behind the correct approach to lines, braking, and throttle application. Recently subscribed to both Popometer and CDA and find this combination really useful. Curious as to what tools you use for recording the driver data and automating the track visualizations. Am a UX designer and love how this tool works. It is quite clean and clear to read, especially those apex and speed markers. Would love to learn more how it was created. It would be helpful if the corner sequence tabs would hold their active state when selected so it would always be clear which sector was displayed. Been taking screenshots of Popometer analysis alongside ACC and iRacing replay views and have to manually notate the corner numbers.
Thanks for the long comment! We just grab the shared memory and then convert that into our own format somewhat for data base storage. The visualization has been a good bit of adjustment of tolerances until it reliably found the corners. But we can manually amend things where it detects too much or too little, but its like 95% accurate. Once a corner is defined the apex and slow speed detection isn't that had anymore. The main challenge i think is to conceive new ways of how to display information that drivers need and can put into practice. This is what I'm ultimately after. Step away again from telemetry and cut it short to what is the key informaton - but for that we first need the telemetry and then innovate from there :) Certainly the website isnt yet following typical UX standards. That will come. Now its still growing so much with features and its not like we made up a big plan from day 1 - so its messy and we do things here and there whenever they are solvable
@@SimracingPopometerThis makes sense. Might be nice to create overlay widgets that dynamically prompt driver for optimal inputs. Akin to concept of rally co-driver but beyond static turn degree icons and simpler than line-chart telemetry. Like a digital compass indicating target level of braking / throttle / steering. The directional arrow functioning as a live bar meter.
the thing with overlays is that you start looking at the overlay and you are not building reference points on the track. once you take the overlay away, you return blind :D
@@Magnet4806 point the mouse to the sky and press the forward key ;) if it doesnt move its because your speed is low. scroll wheel up until speed increases.
wait OMG u can display the turbo boost data on Popo? I can't find it in Motec, is it in there but just in some way I'm incapable of seeing? How did u get the data for that? Thank you Nils
Hi. Can it be that the BOP is better on thr LFM License Server? I was 1 to 2 seconds faster than my regular Training time. I did my Licence Run Yesterday and managed an average Time of 1.35:X which is my overall best Time. On all the other Laps i did on the Puplic Servers my best Time was a high 1:36 and average about 1:37:X At this Point thanks for your Guide it helped me to improve my Lap Times at two Corners i struggled in the past. For Anybody who is interested, I made a Video of my Licence Run, you can find it on my Channel :)
all servers should be optimum grip, im not sure if there's custom BOP applied. Either way: BOP would give a couple tenths, not seconds. Which means it was just you ;)
Many many years sim racing and IRL racing as well. Ive never had a single track I hate ....except this one. Something about my OCD makes me just HATE the fact the track requires you to drive 8' off track in what 7-10 corners ?? Words cant describe my disdain for this track. Lovely that they lock the license access behind the worst track ever made.
