Once in my Youth drove an Anglia with a 1600 cc mod. Engine , Courtesy of The Owner , James and Much later an Escort , Courtesy of Tony ! I drove a Co. Owned Escort Station Wagon . Thanks Guys ! Still love the Fords !
Thanks for the video, I really enjoyed it. I like your honest, no ego, style of presenting, it makes a refreshing change to the RU-vid diva's that normally frequent the site. I had a Mk1 Escort 1300e many years ago, which was a lovely thing, but this is an absolute dream car.
Awesome thanks Nik, that’s how I want to come across it’s always the car and owner that are most important etc :) I love a MK1 Escort just so expensive now.
Theres one of these cars around the Newark area in Blue and White. I used to have a Saxo VTS which was pretty nippy and was going down the A46. I got behind this guy in the Escort and then alongside. We did the usual 3,2,1 GO and i kept up with him until 60 then he blew me away. Dont know what hes had done but it was quick for sure.
My grandma’s luxury car. Though it was a 2 door, 4 speed manual gearing and just 1300 with no aircon, top speed of around 100 - 130 kmh, and looks much like your regular average car, the way she drove it. She treated it like she would with a rolls Royce , Cadillac, Bentley, Mercedes Benz, or any limousine. Later she even hired a personal chauffeur to drive her around. She bought the car 2ND hand. Smooth running. Great luxury car for the whole family.
So nice to see one of these that doesn't have a cosworth lump in it. My dad had an original orange Mexico when I was a kid. With the 4 huge spot lights... He couldn't put the full beam on under 3000rpm or the engine would stall. 😂 Sounded Awsome though. 👍🏻
Damn back in the day we use to put the old pinto in spin the sump and step it strip it out cut 2" hole all over just junk everything even the glass used plastic keep one wiper they were so simple to work on and we raced up and down the other side of blackstone edge littleborough , i all so had a few minis best one was my 1440 cc i just would blow it after a few runs up and down the edge Damn wish i could back in time iam over 60 now gutted
Just discovered you from the 190E video which I must say is a fantastic build. I really like the delivery of your videos so I'm just binge-watching them now. Also wanted to mention that the license plate number is definitely visible in this video just fyi for future videos.
Wow if it's a genuine Mexico then worth silly £££,glad to see its still got the ohv engine and didn't swap out to a pinto or wreck it by putting something stupid in it from another brand..
One my first ford was a mk1 sky blue escort hob 460N think was it's reg, owned it twice as it goes, first time round could never get it to run correctly had push it for it to start but it had a 1750 over bore and was fun when did run,so swapped it for a mtx125 off road bike, then got it back couple years later, but didn't know the engine got taken out and swapped so he could get insurance on it,so I drove off smiling away thinking yes I've got it back and it's running off the key know more pushing, picked couple mates up for to go on a spin, then booted it but was slow as you like, gutted once realised so then sold it..... Just did a dvla check on that reg and just found it,but was yellow originally so found out something new....
@@CJK20 Back in 1992/1993 I was only 16/17 so yeah was Alot fun back then,it's had the alloy door pods, bucket seats but only the drivers one was bolted down so everytime i booted it my mate would end up in the back 😂,brings back some old memories now 😂...
Used to see one on the way to work every morning, peppermint green/contrasting stripe, double cibie's, chrome wolf race wheels and thinking . . . One day ill have one of them, did I hek. . don't know why they were cheap enough back then, £1100 new !
@@CJK20 hi mate it's what they use in mark 2 escorts, type in millington powered ford mark 2 escorts, part 2 on RU-vid great video, I grew up on Ford's with my dad, and have owned a few throughout my life 👍 milllighton serious power and noise, they are used in rally events.
Lovely machine but I would prefer it non-cage and standard interior so you can actually do some distance in it cause trust me after about 30 mile as is you’d be glad to get out of it.
CJK20 As much as 3!! I had a Mk1 and a Mk 2 Mexico in the late 80’s when the average guy could afford them great fun cars that the home mechanic can keep on the road. I cringe when I think what I sold my Olympic blue mk 1 for 😭
It’s more of the fact I cant grow good facial hair mate so the bit in middle which makes me look like hitler happens if I haven’t shaved for while. You’re second person to mention it 😂😂😂 not a look I’m keen for
burghs1 I think if I’m honest with you bro I can’t really grow a beard or tash just so happens to be darker there 😂 I’m pleased with the progress in a few months mate, always learning always trying to make the videos better for anyone who wants to watch them. So thanks for watching 👌
@@CJK20 I've got a mk2 Mexico in a garage original shell was meant to be modified to a group 4 spec over 20years ago , we had all parts ready to convert it, but over time it wasn't done but looking at it now it a blessing as it worth more as original..
