This is a GREAT way to present the set story. I'm surprised it hadn't been done like this before. Keep it going, and if you wanted to split it up into episodes that would be nice as well

Teysa is my commander so i'm kinda sad she died but considering she's Orzhov, its actually a good thing she's dead. looking forward to the new Teysa card

I see some people complaining that they already reveal the culprit in the video. But it feels like this isn't quite the full story yet. What happened to Agrus Kos? And why was Aurelia targeted? Because as far as I know she did nothing wrong during the Phyrexian invasion. Maybe the dryad isn't the true culprit. Or at least not the only one.

I quite like this way of showing off the story for the set, especially by showing the story cards alongside it. I would've appreciated it more if this was released *after* the actual story that was being written was finished, but oh well.

Not Teysa! Nooooo! I must now rebuild her and play her next game. Death triggers, and alot of protection and resurrection so she never dies. 😂❤️

I love this video introduction. I haven't played MTG in 2 years, but I'm itching now to install Arena again. It's amazing to go back to Ravnica and this narrative brings something new to the plane and Magic at all.

This could also be a fantastic D&D adventure for the Ravnica setting. There are so many characters that could be the actual killer. With only a small tweak, the adventure could end with any of them as the final villain similar to Waterdeep: Dragon Heist. would not be surprised if this ended up being a D&D product.

This was very well made, telling the story while showing cards, arts and introducing the mechanics!

4:10 that's not how blocking works tho, is it? If a creature is declared to be blocking that creature, then it remains blocked even after it de-disguises and gains flying. It won't "fly over" anything; it remains blocked. It even has the same toughness, so if your opponent blocked with lethal power, it'll still die, because the block was legal to begin with, so the damage from the blocker is still dealt to your creature. It's good for killing an x/4 i guess, but this is a terrible example of when you'd wanna use this ability.

Anyone else a little disappointed they revealed the killer?

I certainly wasn't expecting Zoetic Cavern to be power crept. I've always liked Zoetic Cavern. I've been interested in making it work for some time now and have mostly failed. In the late game, it's a land you can cast as an underwhelming creature if you're already flooded. In the midgame, if you have nothing else to do with your mana, you can pay 5 mana to essentially ramp. That's all you can do with it. I wonder if Branch of Vitu-Ghazi can actually do anything more interesting than that as an almost strictly better Zoetic Cavern.

I've only been playing since 2022, and while I've gotten excited for a couple releases, I've never been this excited. So unique and so exciting.

That green 4/4 with pretty much hexproof, at least in early game, look nuts.

The only bad thing is that in order to keep things consistent, face-down cards are still 2/2s for 3, a really bad rate nowadays even with ward 2 since they can't participate in battle so disguise cards must me strong enough to be worth the investment, let's hope that is the case this time.

I may have DnD brain rn but this set can make for a nice campaign premise imho and even tho they revealed the culprit, you could argue its like tge Clue(do) movie where it had more than one ending.

I will say that while its odd that they put out this video a full hour before posting the story for people to finish reading, they did offer a decently sized pause in the video before they revealed the killer.

This is how you do it. Really enjoying the story and I'm 10:23 in. A fine yellow residue in powder form and a suspect who is confused after visiting a flower shop.... sounds like the culprit will be golgari seeing as they dabble in life as well as death. My bet is on Dina, Baba Lysaga, Izoni, or Meren. Would be great to see Grismold and Willowdusk but they are more unlikely I suppose... Edit: I really had ruled out a Selesnya culprit and the fur is not explained. Great fun though and I look forward to this set :)

Lavinia becomes a mana expensive Sol Ring. It could have some ability as, when she attacks, tap all creatures with suspect (your and of your opponent). It lacked creativity.

I digged a good 90% of the story, I can’t get behind the twist though. Yeah one of the emissary’s of all living things on the plane killed or attempted to kill 4 people, three of them being innocent and one of them tinkering with some dubious stuff at best. That super makes sense, totally.

It's great that you tried to create a story and deliver it in an interesting way, but the delivery of the conclusion felt weak and to short. That trostani did it for a noble cause felt wrong and that she acted alone too. It would have been cool if the story wouldn't have been released at once and it would have been perfect for small video series. I still enjoyed it overall and hope to see more of the stories in the world of MTG. Also RIP Teysa, one of my favorite characters in the 13 years I have been playing (killing popular characters like her is the right choice, because it feels way more like there are high stakes in the story, don't just unphyrexianise them) .

How does the cloak ability work on etrata work? I assume you get the card you cloak from your opponents deck but it doesnt explicitly say that on cloak reminder text or her text.

One thing doesn't add up here, and i'm struggling to find a line that works. Most of the people targeted were targeted for being involved with phyrexia in some way. Completely unexplained is why Aurelia was targeted. just a way to deflect from the case, knowing that would lead to a war? i'm also concerned that Teysa had phyrexian script in the first place, since phyrexia itself is still lost in time, as i understand it.

This would have been way more engaging if it was in two parts. Wait for ppl to speculate for a few days and make conversation about it

I like that they told at least one of the many stories of this set . Can't wait for more.. I had a feeling it was the sister's.. I hope they do more stories like this.. Now I think I want to try the set when it comes to arena
