This is a late-season muzzleloader hunt. I was able to catch up fast to this buck because he was incredibly tired. The buck constantly fed and bedded down, and I was able to get close a couple times, making it a good video to learn from. At the end of the day, I ended up bumping a different buck than the one I was tracking.
If you've never tracked big bucks in the snow before it can be difficult to understand how to do it. Decisions are made in the moment and are dependent on the particular buck's attitude and habits. For this reason, it's hard to explain to beginners when and why to apply certain tactics.
Although still beneficial, there's only so much you can learn from blogs, books, and podcasts. By following along with me in this video, you'll be able to learn when and why I make the decisions I do. I'll take you on a guided hunt in the big woods of Maine and explain my thoughts as I come to important parts of the track. Enjoy!
