A good way to find a lost blood trail is get a spray bottle and fill it with hydrogen peroxide and a few drops of Yellow food coloring. When you spray it on the leaves if it hits blood, it will foam up Orange.
In the old days we used dogs to hunt. It was a unwritten rule (law) to phone all the neighbouring farms (previous day)and inform them of your hunt, and ask permission in case of a crossover. Most neighbours accepted this and had someone on standby to help.
If owner won’t give you permission to search, call your state Fish and Game department. Here in NH, if a wounded deer goes onto posted land you can call a game warden and he’ll come with you onto the posted land to retrieve the deer.
Always a sick feeling when you know you wounded one and can’t find it. Your a good friend to go help another hunter look for his deer. Thanks for sharing your information on these hunting apps.👍🇺🇸
Man I shot a nice 8 this year and it was about a 120 yard shot and that deer took us on one heck of a tracking adventure but between the 5 of us we caught up with him and finally got him, thank God lol.
I used to use this app for duck hunting. It’s pretty awesome. Great for tracking wind patterns so you know how to setup your blind and your decoys. And the public lands info is absolutely essential.
we always used tissue paper tied on limbs where we had blood...could look back and see the white line and the paper broke down after a rain or two..works well...been doing it for fifty yrs. cheaper..
You don’t get them all. I have gotten several over the years that would have buck shot and bird shot no telling how long ago they were shot. Never found one with a rifle ball in it. I lucky enough to have a dog if needed. I have had a couple over the years. They were Dachshunds. I have a four year old one now that will find one. Thanks for the video
Hunters need to lobby to change that law in Tennessee. In my state and alot of states you can cross property line to recover your deer and drag it back the way you cross and then let the land owner know if you can't ahead of time. We always still talked to land owner and had a reciprocity deal if you was way close to a trail or road on other side than yours give a holler and you can come in on a 4wheeler or truck to pick it up.
Hate you couldn’t get permission to cross over and try to retrieve the deer, I use the app every time I’m in the woods and I actually use it to secure hunting permission (sometimes) great video as always.
Sorry you couldn't find his deer. After wounding a deer thinking it is out there somewhere suffering is the worst feeling I ever felt. That's a neat little app. One more gadget I might suggest: if you are a busy body like me and forget to charge your phone all the time one of them external battery packs to charge your phone can save the day. 😎
Definitely a Cool app! I would try this but most of the places I hunt doesn't have any cell phone signal , so I'm guessing it probably needs signal to work. I had to have help on thanksgiving day finding a deer, I prayed and had pretty much figured it was a lost cause was heading back to the four wheeler and came across a huge pile blood not 20 feet from where I had already made several circles! Sometimes you gotta ask for help 🙏
Hate y'all couldn't find the buck........unfortunately I've been there and it's not a good feeling. Looks like a great app you were using, I can see how it would be a great asset. 👍👍

My friends and I run the free version of Hunt Stand. It’s cool because when you turn on friend locator you can see each other on the map which is great when doing deer drives.
They're a creature of habit and that why they can map it I go to Michigan a lot and they use it up there and what is cool is basically the woods are the same in Michigan that they are in Tennessee I can confuse you by taking you and blind phone to you and taking you to one State or the other to go deer hunting and tell you you're in say Michigan but you actually in Tennessee same kind of woods I've hunt Tennessee to before and also go to Tennessee mayonnaise to Sevierville area.
Tragic loss, Hoot. This is why I go for headshots... heart/lung shot gives them some time to run and possibly survive, someone finds it, or something else. All hope is not lost. And again... headshots is worth the time saving and energy.
Man 2 times...one I shot one a buddy did... We didn't find them. Its a bad sick feeling man. I really hate that. Both times of course we spent more time looking then ever and yeah we all hope they survived. Hey if they didn't, foxes got to eat too. Still though its a bad day.
