I’ve heard about trackmania but never gave it a look, and man, this one seems right in my alley, the arcade gameplay looks sooo fun, and I don’t know why but the cars remind me of ReVolt for some strange reason, amazing video, it’s always a blast watching your content!!!
I guess the cars do have a RC car kind of look to them now that you mention it. And thanks, glad to know you’re still enjoying the videos, reading nice things like this helps keep me motivated to make more!
I've heard a lot about track mania through an interest in speed running. Really glad you covered this game actually! One of these days I'll give it a play.
My biggest problem with TrackMania Turbo is not the *very* short courses and perfection necessary. It’s actually the time between races, which, when you play for (sometimes far) less than a minute per course-the case for most races-taking nearly half a minute to get the next race/run going means half the time spent in the game is with restarting a new race - _especially when you can crash so early into a run to know that it’s a futile attempt._ Learned a lot about how to reduce that time from this video-because I nearly rage quit the game before I really explored the options, it was so frustrating-and so thank you, for discussing that. I’d been so looking forward to playing this game-which I did on Day One, I guess seven years ago, now-and really _wanted to like it,_ but my expectations were so dashed, I simply moved on. (As I recall, it was only a $30 or $40 game, at launch.) However, I found myself giving up on it so quickly-having never played a TM game, prior-especially because I had so many other options, racing and otherwise, especially at the time, around the height of the PS4’s content production and distribution-that I never got into the groove of the game enough to have fun. So, I’m looking forward to trying it, again, with your tips in mind. Thanks so much. 🍻
Well I hope you enjoy Turbo the second time around, and glad the mention of the respawn button was helpful. It’s great for learning a new track while you’re still trying to it figure out what it’s asking of you.
After grinding for hours to get the 5 green medals I currently have, can’t imagine what it must take for the rest of them, hats off to you for earning so many!
@@Mach5Mike On a game like TM Turbo, watching RU-vid videos of specific traffics helps to learn lines. TM 2020 allows you to play against other players' ghosts. That's really how you can start improving at the game
I actually have watched a few videos on some of the TM times I was milliseconds away from beating to see where I could shave off some time, and incorporated how they took lines into the rest of my runs from that point.
The newest game Trackmania sometimes calles Trackmania 2020 focus on the stadium environnement with much better physics, closer to the older stadium games. The main thing to play in this game is the campaign and also Cup of the day. The thing is the community in this game is amazing, unfortunatly turbo is kinda dead in terms of servers, so only trackmania nations forever and trackmania has a decent player base.
I do know about TrackMania 2020, but because it only features the Stadium environment, plus it seemingly requiring a subscription to get the most out of the game, meaning some of the aspects that I loved about Turbo aren’t there, I haven’t been as interested in playing that one. I may try the free version at some point to give the game a fair chance though, because I’m aware I’m speaking from an outside perspective.
@@Mach5Mike well now is the time because starting january the free version will be a little more limited which is unfortunate. Maybe try Trackmania nations forever its also very good
Nations Forever was actually the first TM game I played, so I have put some time into that one alongside the four versions of TrackMania 2 before playing Turbo in 2018 when it was a PS Plus game. Guess I’ll have to get around to trying TM 2020 soon then, appreciate the heads up, and thanks for watching the video by the way!
