I wanted the floatation aspect for muddy areas however I did notice that the hard pack snow actually built up between the pads and the tired and tightened the tracks to the point that they would definitely have broken or broke my gears if I kept going. You may have better luck with them cleaning out with the bar style.

Okay thanks for your reply do you the the metal pads do better on grass/lawns than the metal bar style and how do your work in sand?

@travis3126 grass and lawns will definitely tear up no matter what just because of the nature of how the machine skids. I haven't used them on sand mostly mud and dirt and grass.

It's a complete game changer. I would have buried the machine numerous times and the tracks go through mud and crush over rocks like nothing.
