Tracks is my FAVOURITE. He's got an ego, but he's got such a friendly streak to him in G1 that makes him so much more likeable than arrogant Sunstreaker. He cares! The best example of this are the TFCon charity lines. He just also likes looking good while helping out. It kinda sucks that the later iterations of him seem to lose that kind, earth-loving part that makes him so interesting to me.
As Blaster described him: "Tracks isn't that creepy, homicidal type'a egotist like Sunstreaker is..." And that's why, despite that insufferable tone of his, you like the guy! Brave as they come: Do you know what ball bearings it takes to stand in front of Megatron and shoot your Black Beam gun at him when he could blast you with his fusion cannon??? And I still say Tracks, Blue Streak, and Bumblebee deserve awards for taking on Megatron, Soundwave, Rumble, the Constructicons, AND the Stunticons all by themselves in Trans-Europe Express!!! Yeah, I'm sorry they've neglected Tracks all these years. He was a fascinating Bot...and he'd be the first to agree with me!
I loved Tracks. Never had his toy, though. IDW missed a golden opportunity by not having Tracks team with M.A.S.K. He was basically a M.A.S.K. vehicle anyway when his wings popped.
Didn't know who Tracks was till JobbytheHong did a review on his masterpiece figure. I did a little digging, and it is stunning. And really?! Needlenose is his brother?! Interesting info. Thought he would be more related to Road Rage as her brother. Anyways. I hope Kingdom repaints his figure, with some remolding in some parts, as Road Rage and Loudpedal.
I headcanon that Road Rage is Tracks' twin sister (and by extension, Needlenose is her younger brother), and that both she and Tracks modified their car modes for flight in order to match up with Needlenose's jet mode.
I think Tracks is a really cool autobot. His alt mode is cool (I love corvettes) he sounds like a bot that really cares for his appearance. I find it funny
Tracks should definitely reappear in Transformers media. He has a cool looking vehicle mode. And he's one of my favourite G1 Autobots. I'd like to see him in a movie.
0:46 - I think that that line sums Tracks up perfectly: yeah, he might be obsessed with his looks, but dude will handle his business. And when I was a kid watching this back in the day, I always thought he was supposed to sound like a preppy snob. My friends... they didn't agree.
Still waiting for the Tracks & Raul spinoff show. 😎 By the way, two street punks named Poplock and Rocksteady...Hmmm..."Auto-BOP" written by David Wise, who also created the backstories and named two street punks from another popular franchise (Beebop and Rocksteady)... I'll just back away slowly now 🤯
My original Tracks lost his back wheels, so I mostly display him in Bot or Flight Mode. I was unaware that he was in Kingdom, though. Time to hunt down a preorder.
Man, I loved G1 Tracks. I still remember all his lines. I generally miss how old school cartoons used to really showcase each of the characters' personalities and abilities. With all these reboots, they don't really do that anymore.
Good vid as always. I have to say Dreamwave had such potential and feels like adult story time vs IDW which always feels like dumbed down fan fiction. It would have been really interesting to see where Dreamwave would have taken characters like Tracks.
i wanna see tracks looking like his g1 version in a future transformers series, i hope he transforms into chrysler 300 in a future transformers series, and i hope michael mcconnohie in a future transformers series
Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I loved Tracks... that fact that he could fly made him a considerable asset to the Autobots until the Aerialbots came along.
Something I love about G1 that I wish they'd bring back is the really specific yet high-concept personal weapons they give all the characters. Bob saw those little nubby lazery bits, and instead of thinking something generic comes up with a "Black beam gun". Just from a scifi perspective the idea of such a thing captures the imagination.
Yeah, he can fly, blind foes with black beam gun and finish them off twin missiles. He’s got some of the most impressive tools at his disposal among the Autobots.
I'm so glad for this retrospective, he's my 2nd favorite character. I loved him as a kid because of his flight mode. And Raoul was a decent character, I really liked his 2 appearances. And no, he's not a triple changer, never fit the bill. I wish we would have seen him in season 3, he would have been a nice one to have around. I've preordered Kingdom tracks, I'm excited. And maybe I should get Kindle and find those comics, I think I'm missing out. Great Review, as usual. Can't wait for the next one!
Thank you for the video RodimusPrimal!!!!!! I had no idea Tracks's accent was based on the "Gilligan's Island" character of Mr. Thurston Howell. Keep on being amazing.
Yeah, the stunning Autobot known for his flying car mode, his unique voice and his unique personality, Tracks! Another great Transformers retrospective video.
He's always been one of my favorites (the two NYC episodes especially resonating with this NYer). Got the Masterpiece version last year and I love it, even though it's a tad undersized in my opinion.
I was trying to figure out where the 4 train was headed in Auto Bop while working on this video since it goes above ground. Yeah I definitely loved these two episodes too.
@@RodimusPrimal I wish I could tell ya, bruh. I used to wonder too but the backgrounds are pretty generic with nothing standing out. Knowing them, I'd like to think Times Square (42nd St). Just a quick transfer on the one-stop Shuttle and they're there in a minute.
I think that tracks is not a triple changer like , Bumblebee in transformers dark of the moon he has his robot mode and vehicle mode and stealth force mode people say that bumblebee isn’t a triple changer like tracks. That’s my opinion. Like this video
Tracks makes his transformation sound when he converts to his flying car mode tho He's a triple changer, especially when we see he can just fly by deploying JUST his wings, not also his tail wings and jets the flying car mode is very distinct
I don't think I'm the first to think of Tracks as Hasbro's answer to KITT from Knight Rider. While I can hear Thurston Howell in Tracks performance. I often hear William Daniel's Dr. Craig most times and KITT in Tracks sassier turns. Tracks stood out more than Sunstreaker when I was a kid because Sunstreaker struck me as a neat freak. He didn't want to get his clothes dirty. Tracks, on the other hand, didn't mind mixing it up, just knew he looked good doing it.
Tracks and Blaster are too of my favorite Transformers and I absolutely love the Blaster vs Soundwave fight. "All talk, no shock" (in Soundwave's voice). Love that episode. Tracks definitely deserves more screen time and should've been Sideswipe in the movies.
I've always loved Trax since his first G1 release. Whit his unique flight mode, and my love for 007 movies, I saw him as the teams master spy. The James Bond of the Transformers, it fit with his personality on the show as an American version of the famed British Super Spy. And Julio was his perfect undercover sidekick. I plane on tracking down when I can afford to all three colors in Masterpiece.
Tracks has always been one of my favorites...I have more variants of him than any other giving him a starring role on my shelf. His personality was the one I always wanted for myself as well...alas it was not meant for me to be that cool.
I can't wait until the Tracks toy from WFC kingdom releases. As soon as its available, I'll snatch that figure up just because I love this narcisstic autobot so much!
I could say that Tracks is among the first Transformers toys which you could do make-shift modes. Make-shifts could sometimes appear in Transformers media like Sixshot's seventh mode and Black Zarak's 2 headed serpent mode.
Tracks the most awesome concept ever. A sports car, a robot, and the car can also fly! seriously I want more toys of tracks! Also great video as always❤️💚
14:07 Wow. Townsend Coleman’s Tracks voice sounds almost exactly like the Jim Backus impersonation Jeff Bennett used to voice Cave Guy on _Freakazoid!_
I always liked this dude, and I still have my re-issued G1 in the box from 17 years ago.. I ALMOST opened him today but I saw the Kingdom version at Walmart so I’ll refrain 🤓
Hehe i still have my transformers original VHS from 1989. But it was not until the early 90s Tracks showed up in one of the episode wich you showed here in this clip. I have been extremely interested in Tracks ever since without knowing much of history, so thanks for this, he is my favorite, not because his arrogance rather because his abilities and the mystery that came with him.
I don't know why, but his voice reminds me of Christian Bale's Patrick Bateman. I feel like he's going to start talking about Genesis and Phil Collins tapes and start quibbling over business cards any minute!
Jazz and Tracks were two of my favourite characters in G1 and not gonna lie Corvettes have always been one of my favourite cars and that shade of blue was just so stunning. Like Jazz he was just so stylish and I can't fault him for having a bit of an ego when he looked so good either. I do like that even though he did have a narcissistic streak, he was still a kind bot who loved hanging out and being friendly with humans and not just when it was absolutely required. It's unfortunate that in TFA they decided out of all the Autobots they could've used for that scene, they took one of the original bots who loved humans and their culture, and made him repulsed by them instead.
I love Tracks, getting him as a kid in the 80s was awesome. I think he would be a good character to reintroduce. He's not cool, he's suave, that's why when he jokes he doesn't come across as a character dad's think young guys will think is cool..
Well, I think I might know the answer to the characters that appeared in season 2. You can use this in the next discussion if you want. After season one, some autobot survivors get intel of optimus prime and his soldiers still alive after so many years and located on earth. They then have omega supreme take them to earth where they meet up with some autobot soldiers. They then decided to join the fight against megatron. And gain alternate modes they like. And soon when megatron hears intel of optimus’s army expanding, he sends a message to cybertron letting more decepticons know he’s still alive too and they travel to via astrotrain. And take alternate forms they like too.
And I always thought because it tracks color that he was a stuck-up rich black dude from suburbs I think that's a better interpretation of his visual Aesthetics and personality
