First time i have filmed at this Town. The station retains its old world
charm, but it's a shame the through roads wern't still in situ.
Lying on the main route from Felixstowe to the Midlands and the North
of England, the freight traffic is predominantly containers.

Great location and pleasant change too Colin! Dont get many vids from this area. Great container workings there, reminds me of my local MauldethRd, thats on the Style line here in South Manchester, that only gets container traffic as well. A really nice change and as always enjoyed! Cheers Nick.

Yes Its a ok station Colin, ok as you said mostly container traffic but when I went there on Saturday 4th August 2018 I got a engineering TnT train so I was a bit lucky. I bet you are thinking how did I remember that date, well in them days I was still into visiting Spoons pubs in a big way. So I looked at my spoons list of pubs I've been to, and that hot morning I left my hotel in Norwich and travelled on the train to Stowmarket Bury St Edmunds and Thetford and filmed trains at each station. Thank you very much Colin for this upload as it brought back the memories of that day. I think I must of been filming class 37 on the Friday from NR.

Fantastic as ever Colin. It looks as it could have been a bit of a mecca that place back in the day...... is it mainly container traffic 🤔 or does it have other freight too. Looks as if its a busy place

Back in its heyday it had a class 08 outbased here from March depot to shunt all the sugarbeet traffic as well as grain hoppers. The sugarbeet factory is still here visible in one of the scenes but everything goes by road now .Apart from all the container traffic there is a couple of stone trains, thats all.Thanks for watching mate, cheers,Colin.
