Hi, the brand name for my channel(s) is Trackside UK and Trackside Europe. I started filming with a large handheld camcorder back in the late 80's and all through the 90's before catching up with the latest technology and investing in a smaller camcorder and tripod in the 21st century. Since 2011 i also started to venture to Europe and have since continued to film both there and in the UK. Ofcoarse the covid pandemic has restricted my options a little bit but it has allowed me the time to start the process of uploading my films for your enjoyment.
Another enjoyable session Colin, more great workings and shots, you get your fair share of DRS workings mainly on the Tescos services. I have to go to Warrington Bank Quay to catch them as they dont operate near me sadly. Nice seeing Redshed Blueshed Maritime 4 there, and a great shot of 66740 'Sarah' working the tanks. As always really enjoyed and thanks for sharing, cheers Nick.
Thank you Colin. You had some awful light at times to cope with given those dark liveries, but the results were really good and then you filmed the sleeper too! Hope all is well. I meant to ask how your wife is doing - she well? Take care, Christian
Hi Christian and both the wife and myself are both well thank you. The weather up here has been pretty miserable for ages making filming difficult but i have been quite pleased with the results so i'm glad you have enjoyed watching mate. I hope you're well also and take care, regards, Colin.
Excellent Colin! Some good shots there, Had Shoebox 967 failed as 303 was at the helm? It was a late nighter for you, hope the wife didn't moan, mine did on Tuesday night! Went for the outbound GBRf Trafford Park to Felixstowe, A double header 66707/708! 2245 through my local, returned home, your late, thought here we go again dog house haha! As always enjoyed, hope you have a great weekend, cheers Nick.
Thaks very much for watching Nick, the Shoebox is always directly behind the 66 as it provides theETH for the coaching stock. As for the late night trip out to film it the wife just thinks i'm off my head lol. Enjoy your weekend mate and looking forward to your next video 🙂Take care, Colin.
Can't believe you uploaded this 8 days ago. I was looking forward to your part 2 but didnt realise its been over a week. Nonetheless fantastic vid Colin. Both parts capturing the best on offer at Eastleigh
That's ok Ben, i know you're a busy man and you'd get round to it eventually. I'm glad you enjoyed it mate, especially ( i suspect ) the class 69 footage. Take care and thanks for watching, regards, Colin.
Just took it all for granted Mike. Still it's nice to be able to look back now and then and smile and say " happy days ". Thanks for watching mate, take care, Colin.
Clay Cross was thrash-central back in the day. Great stuff! 🚂👍 7:28 Surely a bit excessive to have two locos running for a simple power move (not that anyone's complaining )?😉
Oh i agree Dave, two always better than one. I had forgotten just how much steel traffic there was running back then. Glad you enjoyed it, take care, Colin.
well that was an up graided from "good biscets" to a "CooP blackcurrant sunday "! with the cupper . is just amazing to see all that fright varity and loco's too think now a class 60 is a real bonus on a day out and them tractors still going strong ...... the white tanks nr the begining total mystary ! they looked very old . thanks for the clasic epesode
My pleasure Tom and thanks for watching mate. I think the white 2 axle tanks looked like old milk carriers. A modellers dream i reckon. Take care mate, Colin.
I had a second look at the white tanks the is a lowmac behind them I am thinking some kind of spray train ? before the new stuff have to have a look ing the books
Bet Clay Cross doesn't see that amount of traffic these days Colin! Amazing footage there from the mid nineties, so much fantastic variety then. I love the sector liveries and you just about caught all of them other than the General sector perhaps. Wonderful mix of classic traction there, great 31 Dutch duo there and that plume of claggy smoke from Coal sector 60 was wonderful! The Duff quartet was a great catch too. As always really enjoyed cheers Nick.
Thanks for the kind comments Nick, i really appreciate them mate. I had forgotten just how much steel traffic there was running about back then, sadley just a blip now. Also i had forgotten i had filmed the yellow 31116 so i dug out one of my old photos of it from Exeter Open Day. Many thanks for watching Nick, best regards, Colin.
Well cant complain can i Colin, Four freights two Redsheds and EWS liveried lovely! And to finish things off nicely a good crossover there! Another enjoyable session from you enjoyed cheers Nick.
Thanks Nick i appreciate that mate. The whole day just went from bad to worse but you just have to take it on the chin sometimes. Hope you have a great weekend mate, regards, Colin.
Just as good as the first one Colin, but I must be honest with you I thought I was watching someone else's video. when it started with that great thing. Take care Mike.
Brilliant video Colin. Nice to catch 69009 and 66044 (for Nick). Was Steve with you at Eastleigh or are you just on your own? Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work!
I had total faith in you Colin, a Redshed duly assured and you delivered haha! Super shots there but for me pick of the vid was 69009.A great shot inc stills, i love the livery, that harks back to the days of the Westerns. Another enjoyable session cheers Nick.
Thanks very much Nick, i thought you would be pleased with the red shed, and 009 deffo my favourite livery so far, don't know how GB are going to top that. Glad you enjoyed mate and thanks again for watching. All the best, Colin.
I know i love my Redsheds Colin but i do have a soft spot for the five Colas sheds. So relieved it wasent 848 as its still after all this time the one im chasing. That was a great finale there with the four locos approaching together, that was a touch of class! A great session at Eastleigh and cantcwait for part two! Have a great day tomorrow really enjoyed cheers Nick.
Thanks so much for the kind comments Nick, it's always appreciated. I can promise you a red shed in part 2, along with my favourite class 69, so thanks again and i'm glad you enjoyed it. Cheers Nick, regards, Colin.
Nice video Colin. Great to see this line is still busy. I do sometimes miss spending my evenings at Purfleet. Used to get quite a good variety. ATB. Ben
Thanks very much for watching Ben, glad you enjoyed it. Gateway is gradually getting busier and the last 2 cranes were delivered and commisioned quite recently so should soon get busier still. Best regards mate, cheers, Colin.
Excellent footage from a place I love to film at Colin, I see the class 70 didn't let you down with the clag. I was hopping to go down to that area yesterday but the mate I was going to meet didn't have time to arrange a passport for me so I went to Oxford. Don't leave the part two to long before uploaded, cheers Mike.
Thank you very much Mike for the kind comments, it had been a long time since i was last at Eastleigh and i was pleased that there were plenty of 70s clagging around. Part two will be up soon, and includes footage of my favourite class 69. Hope Oxford went well mate, best regards and take care, Colin.
