I wonder how many Kubotas Messick's sells for other, less professional and lazier dealers. I know I've bought two locally from a dealer who didn't seem to know the first thing about the tractors they were selling. Thanks Messick's!

Those ballast options won't seem so expensive the first time you pick your drives up off the ground, or the tractor gets squirrly on sloped or uneven terrain. LOTS cheaper than a hospital stay, a funeral, or a new tractor. Weight can also be important when running many types of powered trail-behind equipment. It's not fun when your hay mower, or loaded wagon is pushing YOU around, instead of the opposite. That's one reason that when you step up into full on AG utility tractors, that they are so much heavier- even at the same or fewer horsepower. That, and it helps with traction. Some good explanations, Neil. Thank you!

I wasn't sure about additional hydraulics, But I opted to get everything right away and put it in the finance cost.. and I'm glad i did!! Dual rear remotes are great between a hydraulic top link and chute rotate on the snowblower, and hydraulic angle on my blade those get used a lot! And i ended up getting a Grapple so the third function is a must!

Good afternoon. You said that the BX’s all have the same frame, I think I heard that the BX23S has a stronger enhanced frame from the factory to compensate for the weight and operation of the backhoe, that the other BX option frames don’t have. I understand that putting that frame enhancement option is significantly more costly. Am I wrong.

3rd function and rear remotes are the one thing my dealer screwed up. I was a first time tractor buyer, bought a L4701HST. I asked if I should add a 3rd function or rear remotes and was told I didn't need them. I didn't completely understand what I needed them for, and now I'm semi-seriously considering trading up and making damn sure I get a 3rd function and and at least two rear remotes. Can't run a grapple and can't run a hydraulic offset flail mower or a hydraulic log splitter. Other than that, been really happy with the 4701, and other than a sheared bucket pin (manufacturing defect), haven't had a single issue with it.
@scottelder3141
@scottelder3141 Год назад
You can add 3rd functions and rear remotes pretty easily. I put a WR Long 3rd function on my grand L in a couple of hours. The grapple is a game changer.
@justadbeer
@justadbeer Год назад
I'll 2nd Scott's comment on a grapple being a game changer, and he's also correct about adding on that 3rd function valve. As far as running a log splitter off a rear remote, don't waste your time unless you have all day to split a log. It is painfully sloooow and for the price, you can buy a tow behind, tow it out with your tractor and have one person splitting logs while one of you is using the tractor/grapple to cut and haul logs to the splitter. As far as a flail mower, they make offset flails that use your PTO, otherwise, rear remotes can also be added.
@JCWren
@JCWren Год назад
@@justadbeer I'll probably do that if I keep the 4701. I'm kind of wanting a cab now, along with R14 tires. That combined with the cost of adding the remotes, and it may just be worth trading up. As far as the flail mower, it would be PTO driven. However, the offset is hydraulically controlled. The 4701 makes 39HP at the PTO which starts to exceed the gearbox rating on the manual offset versions.
@JCWren
@JCWren Год назад
@@scottelder3141 Adding the 3rd function remote is a lot easier than adding the rear remotes, from everything I've looked at. A grapple isn't an essential item for me as I also have a mini-ex. Not as good at moving brush as a grapple, but definitely better for handling logs.

We had the money for a large down payment so we just rolled in the cost of the third function and 3 rear hydraulic ports to our Grand L. We also added the hydraulic assisted skid steer quick attach. The labor is the same to add one , two or three rear ports. With all the new thingas they are coming up with on compact tractors, we wanted to have plenty of ports. We love the 3rd function and the hydraulic top link in the back.

I find it ironic the B series has a higher flow hydraulic pump than the entry sized, but larger, L series. This is due to the B series having the mid PTO option, so it needs the extra flow.
@donaldstrishock3923
@donaldstrishock3923 Год назад
I firmly believe Not so. I Have the brochure specifications right in front of me. Having almost absolutely nothing to do with a mid-mount PTO. The L2501 engine spins at a low RPM @ (101ci) engine vs. L3301& L3901 @ 111 ci engine & FASTER governed engine ,but ALL the SAME hydraulic pump.
@jameslmorehead
@jameslmorehead Год назад
@Donald Strishock Well, yea. The L series all have the same pump with the same frame size. What does that have to do with the B series? Just to give some clarity to my original post, the small L series run a 5.25 gpm hydraulic pump for accessories while the B series uses a single 8.3 gpm pump for steering and accessories. The L series has a second, isolated hydraulic loop for the steering.

@davidferris4563
@davidferris4563 Год назад
Not to sound smart... But the only time I have found is when the lot is full of unsold tractors. And no one has money to buy them. The rest of the time is just a matter of going to a couple or more different dealers and get a quote based on the spec's you want. When I got my LX2610 in the fall of 2021 shopped 3 different Kubota dealers that were within a hour drive. The best was the dealer that was Elite certified the difference more than $5,000 from low to high. To get that I told each dealer I would pay cash. Was using the equine discount and was willing to wait for one to come in from Japan. Took 3 months for it to come but was worth the wait.

Tires should be loaded if a loader is installed. There should be no option to not load them. Dealerships are being sued when a tractor with a loader rolls because there was no ballast. Manufacturers require ballast with a loader, and dealerships can be found negligent if they sell a loader tractor without tire ballast.

Actually HP is not the main performance of the machine. It's more about torque. The single most important part of a diesel is the % of the torque rise. Which is the strength of the engine's ability to overcome come a load.
@Elem7777
@Elem7777 Год назад
I don't entirely agree with you about HP "doing nothing" but yes it is a critically important factor and one often missed when comparing different size tractors with similar HP, like a 26hp BX, B or L. Yes, they all have the same amount of horsepower on paper, but they do NOT have the same engine, and that L may have 50% more torque from its significantly larger engine. It's maddening that none of the manufacturers advertise the torque given all this, I simply don't understand it.

Disagree on the gear drive. You've got no business being on something as dangerous as a tractor if a gear drive is too complicated. Select a range, select a direction, select a speed. Adjust the RPM for fine adjustments thereafter.

It's more complicated with loader work. Lowest gear going into a pile, but transport you want something faster. Might have to reverse, switch between low, medium, high, as well as the actual gear. Yeah not complicated when you know the system, but not simple when you are new to it.
@billmoretz8718
@billmoretz8718 Год назад
@arthurr8670 mainly depends on how often you use the loader. If it's not every week and you use pto alot the gear is a better option. Gears are also better on steep ground. While hydro maybe fine at first, as the tractor ages then slippage can be an issue.
@morrismonet3554
@morrismonet3554 Год назад
@@billmoretz8718 Depending on use, hydro is still the better PTO option. Like when cutting tall grass or brush where you keep the rpms at 540 PTO and run into heavier or lighter spots. You can instantly speed up or slow down the tractor for the conditions, while maintaining constant rpm.
