I always thought your loader had to be down while checking fluid... that way when its full and you lower your loader the extra oil from the cylinder has somewhere to go besides vent out and make a mess.
@StoneyRidgeFarmer
@StoneyRidgeFarmer 3 года назад
I've been told warm up the machine....raise the loader arms and get it within operating range. Now....operating range is a very wide mark on the dipstick. This machine also has a "low hydraulic fluid" light on it....once I got it back together somehow something went wrong with the linkage too! Ahhhh....I guess it's better than buying a new one for $50k

My Deere 260 has constant hydraulic leaks as well as my friends 250. You will become quite antiquated with your lines and o rings. In fact I just tried stop trade it in on a kubota and the dealer has little interest because "those machines all leak so much hydraulic oil" Glad you got it repaired! Your hydraulic dipstick should say check with boom down. As stated earlier it could over flow your tank when you put the arms down.

hydraulic lines make a machine exciting to run. I have had to replace a lot of mine on my old tractor. I have learn to keep a good eye on them. They do keep a nice rust preventative when they blow out lol. If your lucky you can still move it. Now I keep a few on hand just for get me by repairs. So I can get it to a place to work on it for final repairs. Thanks for the great tips on hose replacement. Hope it wasn't too expensive. 3M makes safety arm guards to protect employees from cuts. I have been thinking of using my old ones to protect my hydraulic lines from rubbing with them or any hose. They are made from Kevlar. Just thought it may help ya someday. Have a great week.

Im paused at 3:57 my guess is for it to be coming out of so many places at once, Im going to say A . Something is spraying, Im betting either a cracked filter housing, or a split hose. Fluid heats up gets thinner, sprays more, hoses also heat up so any crack also sprays more. My guess..... a cracked hose. Onward to see what we come up with...... Edit, NAILED IT a hose GOING TO THE FILTER HOUSING LOLOLOL I mean, how close can you expect me to get without actually getting under it lol. Why cant my real life be like that lol. Hydraulics can be intimidating for the average DIY'er but Im glad to see you diving in, it really isnt that complicated until you get into computer controlled hydraulics and coefficients and K factors lol then it gets nuts!!

just remember, once you replace a hydraulic line stand by for the one behind it to blow because of the new pressure increase!
@StoneyRidgeFarmer
@StoneyRidgeFarmer 3 года назад
well..the pressure should remain constant...the line that we replaced was working fine until it ruptured...so therefore all the lines should work fine. Problem with this machine is that it sat for a number of years...and the lines dried out. I anticipate more problems in the future
