Coby is a happy happy dog !! Chasin' wabbit's and critters is one of his specialties, taking care of mom&dad and "the Families" is his birthright !! I do cringe sometimes when he jumps off the equipment, that he will hurt himself(he's getn older just like the rest of us), but his mind thinks he's still a youngin' ! We still think WE can tame the world too(until we try to lift, move something) !!

It really has been a tough 3 years. Heartbreaking to watch too bc the world needs all the grain our farmers can grow. Idk how far apart you & Tony’s vids are but he got several days of hard rains. I’m hoping you did too.

In my area I live in Ohio. A lot of corn and soybeans are planted. The saying is knee high by 4th of July for corn. But a lot of corn fields are maybe ankle high. Or just bare areas. We had no rain for 2 weeks so it did it help the farmers around me

I dunno. I was driving down a back road in South Dakota one night when I came upon a jack rabbit. I was doing a little over 40 and he was pacing along right ahead of me. Not sure but I did not think he was sweating at all. He ran there for some distance and then suddenly jumped across the ditch and disappeared into the field. I'm not sure who was pacing who at that time.

My farmer hat is off to you guys. I couldn't farm in a place knowing i might not get a crop. Here in Wisconsin we are very very dry and the corn if suffering badly and that's with 3.5 inches of rain in 2 months. It must be near impossible to plan anything with that level of inconsistency in the weather.

have you seen the hammer mill the dude in Australia designed to eliminate/destroy any seed going out the back of the combine. So instead of the combine planting weeds and then paying to spray (and the time), the hammer mill kills the seeds before they can germinate. Not all weeeds but any picked up by the combine.

As usual, yall are dealing with the present(planting, weeds, rain, equipment maintanence) while planning for the future(new bins for seeds and crop storage, houses for the sons and their familys, new crops-to see how they grow, what kinda yields they may produce)!! Long time follower and I’m struck how sad I am for your plight. 4 straight years of extreme drought on scrub land to begin with. At least you have social media income flowing in. And of course faith, family and immense work ethics and mechanical abilities.

Drought hardened weeds are almost impossible to kill with chemical. Steel works the best but then you have the whole tillage issue. If you gona have a mess or a wreck it always happens along the road.

Very good explanation of why it is what it is. We are very dry here in Wisconsin and yet the weeds in the garden flourish. Kobe you don't stand a chance chasing yokes and rabbits.

You have bud problem. I have learned something being in the lawn care business when I spray weed and unwanted grass I put dish soap in my tank and when it rains it will activate the weed killer and it works.

Our 228 acres of green beans which went to Gerber for baby food was picked last week. The fields were prepared in the last few days and now green beans are getting planted today for the commercial canners.

Hey Bob! I think it's great that you can have a little fun while you're getting farm work done. When I was farming here in Dawson County, Montana 25 years ago, I would NEVER take the time to have some fun. To me, everything was super serious...work, work, work. I wound up getting very sick because of my attitude. The stress of farming ate me up and now I struggle with my heart issues. Bob, I sure did enjoy the video with you and Koby. Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. Thanks to bob and nick for talking about the crop status and their weed control efforts. Most interesting. You are doing better than I thought with the drought and your crops. Know you need rain badly. Weed control seems to be your bad issue right now if I understand you correctly. Chemicals are so expensive so spraying adds up dollar wise quickly. Really hard to control some types of weeds. I am sending my prayers to you for rain and some more rain for moisture for your crops. May god watch over you all. Colby is really good at chasing the rabbits and other animals. For his age he is quick on his feet and really puts his all into it. Good going Colby!!!!! That reminds me so much of days I spent on the farm in southern Alberta, in fact just on the immediate other side of West Butte. Same fight with weeds on the other side of the 49th. Dry land farming is a challenge, but when it rains consistent in the Fall, there sure are some nice crops. Just need the white combine to stay away. Bob it looks like you may need to pack a water dish.
