@@onastick2411 I feel the same, but both its planned use case (flights into urban areas) and its technology (ramjets in the rotor tips) made sure it would have never worked out. Still, it was one of the coolest planes to have ever flown, in my opinion.
Bull Pup. A bit a head of its time. I don’t know what killed its appeal. Perhaps the obstructive view but the additional safety factor was enticing. I made an appearance at the same time the Wind Rider sleek with its composite body. It too was ahead of its time and didn’t catch on. Dominator appeared and stole the show while RAF struggled trying to convince all a horizontal stabilizer was not necessary. The gem of the tractor mounted engine was Ron Heron’s Liitle Wing with its cubby- like Art Deco like look. Oh how I dreamed of that beautiful tube and fabric yellow machine. But these were the square tube bolt together days. And the Dominator’s won the battle. I am not disappointed in that either.
It's a Pitbull & this one is in New Zealand. As far as I can tell I have the only other one still flying, I am also from NZ but live in Idaho & run an EA81 Subaru with Ellison injection.
@@socalplanedoc I'm just an old country bumpkin & don't even have an I-phone so sorry there are no video's. As far as I can tell there were only about 12 Pitbull kits produced so they're about as rare as rocking horse shit. I found mine on Barnstormers a few years ago & it was in Canada. Fusioncopter are producing a tractor ultralight gyro that should be available soon. They also make the Nano gyro & a friend has one here, they are a well built machine. Here's a link. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sWCCuRtHQAU.html
Yes you’re correct they are more unstable on the ground than a pusher style Gyroplane but once flying they are fine! Just have to be very careful about crosswind on ground
@@olliebrooks101 if you have any other cool gyro video keep me in mind. Do you think you will have an opportunity to video that gyro again? We don’t get to see Tractor style gyros very often. 😎
