As for the worst trade in NHL history, my late father (a Bruins fan) insisted it was when Chicago sent Phil Esposito, Ken Hodge, and Fred Stanfield to Boston for Gilles Marotte, Pit Martin, and Jack Norris. I'm not aware of another as bad.

Vegas has like $30 mil on LTIR, i'm sure all those guys will miraculously recover by the playoffs. Wasn't the purpose of the cap to prevent teams from being unfairly stacked?

The owners negotiated the LTIR structure with the players, so they least tolerated it at the time. Preventing teams from being unfairly stacked is one of the public reasons for the salary cap. I translate that to "we owners cannot trust each other to not spend 'too much' on players' salaries." If true, shouldn't the owners hate all the extra salary expenditures that LTIR makes possible? I suspect only the small-market teams do. Those in big markets don't mind spending more on salaries because a Cup victory means much bigger profits.

What do you make of a Bruins team that rarely loses in regulation… is it that they don’t have enough to win, or, they are going to be hard to beat when overtime means 5 on 5?

This TDL has forced my decision to no longer be a TML fan. I give up , you broke me TML! I do not belive they actually WANT to win or HATE to lose so no point in wasting my efforts and being disappointed every year. Think VGK is a really good organization worth watching but may just end up being a fan of any good Canadian team left in playoffs after TML get knocked out in 1st round.
