That Gobert-Ayton swap is very unrealistic although it makes sense for both teams. This won’t happen because Phoenix doesn’t want to go too much over the luxury tax by paying 3 guys Max and Bridges 20 mil. They would do a trade with someone who makes significantly less like Turner, Capela etc. Just wanted to point this out! Anyway good stuff as always!
Ya it makes 0 sense money wise, and logistically it’s very tough for both teams to pull off since UTA would be hard capped. So yea getting Ayton is awesome for Utah, he’s a way better younger asset than Gobert and you can build around Ayton/Mitchell…but they’d still have an old team and a lot of bad contracts. So with the hard cap it’s hard for them to get much better for 22-23, but it’d be worth it for the future if Mitchell would stay I guess. But like I said $ wise why would PHX do this? They’d be taking on like $10M+ more with Gobert instead of Ayton. They’d be a DEEP luxury tax team which seems to be the opposite of what they wanna do.
I don't see Phoenix having the leverage to get such a high lottery pick player plus other stuff for Ayton. Sign and trades usually end up nowhere near reflecting the players value. Plus it seems like Ayton 100% wants out and Phoenix dknt want to pay him so don't think they'll get much in return except trying to make the salaries work
U gotta start putting the best player or the person u want u want scoring the most the number one opt n start having the defensive player on the team Guard the person that’s giving u a problem lol
@@duncanwalter3613 ya I think a S&T would return very limited assets for PHX bc the team has to pay him the max AND give up something for him. It’s not like him on a max is some great value. Top superstars are a value even on the max, but Ayton might not even be a + contract on a max. It’s at least close, he’s likely either properly paid or a bit overpaid. So nobody wants to give up any good asset(s) AND max him. Plus with Ayton being base year compensation, doing a S&T is tricky unless it’s with a cap team or at least a team way below the tax. Like idk if you’d even get someone like Isaiah Stewart back in an Ayton S&T. All they might get is a trade exception and like a decent 1st round pick or a decent role player. You’re not getting like pick 5 for Ayton in a S&T, and I highly doubt you’re even getting Jerami Grant in a S&T. If Ayton took less than the max then that’d open up a solid asset going PHX’s way, but I don’t see that happening. Maybe if PHX was willing to attach a 1st they could get a good piece back. Maybe Ayton S&T and like a 2024 T4 protected 1st would get you Jerami Grant. I really don’t know. A cap team can just send an offer sheet if they rly think you won’t match so getting assets is hard. If Ayton for some reason was willing to sign for like 4/120 on DET in a S&T so they got a discount, then maybe they’d be willing to send back Beef Stew. That’d give PHX a solid sized trade exception, and a very young cheap C who has potential to be a solid starter. I find that SOOOO unlikely though. PHX is best off trying to sign Ayton to a 5yr deal for a bit under the max. The most another team can do is like ~4/130 off the top of my head. PHX can do 5/175. PHX should try to get him signed for around 5/150. I think that’d be a good deal for both sides, and it’s a tradeable contract if they wanted to move him in the future. I think 5/150 would be enough to keep him assuming he doesn’t BADLYYYY want out. So that’s what I’d do if I were PHX.
The reason you're my favorite 2k RU-vidr is that 9/10 you make smart realistic moves. That being said, as you were trading for Gobert I was yelling out No!!! 😆
Smart and realistic? He traded shamet for the lakers pick which turned out to be pick 8 . The pelican would never do that . That isn’t realistic at all .
Really wish you would have played Jared Butler after first off-season. Gobert is interesting, not sure about it, I think the Spurs would have been better option. Love rebuilds as always!
As you might've see, there is a romour around the NBA that in 2024 we'll have 2 new expansion teams, one in Las Vegas and the supersonics again. It would be cool if you could make a rebuild with one of the teams! Keep up with the good work love the vids
The suns got better because they had a pg that focused on play making and pg like lonzo, cp3 , Lebron ,and players like draymond are why the team succeed.
2K only protects picks for one year, so OKC gets INFINITE picks, and really good ones. Ones they wouldn’t get IRL (like DET’s) bc of multi year protections. That causes some serious issues. Any team that has a lot of future picks of teams that often end up bad too. Like LAL often ends up REALLY bad and NOP has a lot of their picks. MIL ends up bad a lot and NOP has their picks. OKC owns a lot of LAC picks and they often end up really bad too. So that pick hoarding w/o multi year protections, crazy progression, and OP draft classes end up making insanely OP teams. It gets more noticeable the longer in to the future you go. You reallyyyy should stop using user created draft classes after the 2023 class or you’ll just keep running in to this over and over. Just auto generate classes after ‘23. Every user class is SOOOO OP and we have no idea who’s going to be good in the 2024 class. Hell we barely know who’s going to be good in the ‘23 class, or even ‘22 class. Everyone ends up good basically in the user created ones.
Since everyone compares Anthony Edwards to Michael Jordan and the people say they look identical do a Edwards career sim where he has to get 6 championships 5 mvps, and a lot of scoring titles
@@rondo9517 Robert's defense is great.....great playmaker and finisher. Health is issue and Ayton in this system would be an animal. Love Robert but Ayton has superstar potential and you want as much of those
I'm at just 8 minutes in, but I had to get in here. The pistons signed Ayton, you should've traded Ayton to the pistons lol Also, for future RFA trades, please look up previous RFA packages, they are no where near what you and everyone else thinks they'd get. LBJ signed with the heat in a sign and trade for 2 firsts that ended up being 30th and 24th and 2nds. Bucks got a first from pacers (24th) for the Brogdan S&T. The pistons got the draft rights to pick 16(Stewart) in the S&T for Wood. Youre looking at MAYBE a future first but Suns (imo likely) prefer win now players vs future picks (good because my pistons owe OKC so we don't have a pick to move other than 5 and yeah no lol) so going back may be Olynyk and 2nds, maybe you can get Hays or Diallo (more likely diallo even tho he is the better player currently) MAYBE they give Beef Stew. Keep up the grind
Ayton for gobert?? Idk about that bc what does that really change for the suns. You get a great regular season defender and that’s about it. Just doesn’t seem that the suns really get better from that but I could be criminally underrating gobert 🤷🏾♂️
And your banking on other guys making a jump offensively which could easily back fire. They gotta get something that at least keeps them where their at plus draft capital and idk if a trade like that exists
I would love for the Mavs to get Ayton, they are only one good big away(hopefully he blossoms to a all-star next season or that caliber of a player) from winning a chip, cause Luka is a really good pick and roll player but has undersized big men but Ayton is a 7ft, Athletic, High Upside big for the Mavs future but thats all useless if Luka isn’t conditioned and gets injured, they can also sign and trade Ayton for Gobert or Towns.
Trading da is so dumb. Idk why everyone is so hyped about it. Match his offer and trade at the next deadline but only with an equal exchange. Otherwise keep him but deff no sign and trade. That’s so stupid
You reallyyyy should stop using user created draft classes after the 2023 class or you’ll just keep running in to this over and over. Just auto-generate classes after ‘23. Every user class is SOOOO OP and we have no idea who’s going to be good in the 2024 class. Hell we barely know who’s going to be good in the ‘23 class, or even ‘22 class. Everyone ends up good basically in the user created ones and it ruins teams and messes up the cap.
So first you trade for smith jr and say you need scoring and offense and then the next year you trade for triple J and say you desperately need defense . I’m beginning to think you have no idea what you’re doing 😂😂😂😂
Maybe more editing and less dead time in menus would shorten the video itself a bit, but I like the long scale rebuilds in terms of developing players and experimenting.
You’re hilarious. You said you were gonna keep it realistic and do a sign and trade. The went on to not even trade him to the team that actually signed him 😂😂😂😂
You should do a Pacers rebuild where they do this trade to move up in the draft. OKC: Myles Turner, 6th Pick, 2023 First(Via CLE) IND: 2nd Pick, Aaron Wiggins
