I was planning to just make a quick stop in the historic ghost town of Trading Post, Kansas, but luckily I ran into Alison Hamilton who showed me all around and told me more history than I could've hoped for! What an interesting area along the Kansas/Missouri border where many battles were fought before and during the Civil War. It is said that Trading Post is the oldest continuously inhabited settlement in the state of Kansas, with it's beginnings in 1825 as, you guessed it, a trading post.
