To the Choctaw nation, thank you for supporting the starving people of Ireland during our great famine. Your financial support was enormous, by a people's who also suffered great suffering and hardship. Our two nations will forever be connected and our taoiseach (Chieftian ) on a recent visit acknowledged this by setting up a scholarship programme for the Choctaw people.

I heard about this story through my family. By my great fortune, I am both Irish and Choctaw by descent. I love this. Truly, love and support are all that matter.

When lamb’s quarters is young, the entire above ground plant is edible. The stems and leaves can be eaten raw, steamed, or sautéed. After the plant matures the older parts will be too tough, but the tender leaves on top can still be picked and prepared the same way. Lamb’s quarters is related to spinach, tastes similar, and can replace it in any recipe. The black seeds, although laborious to cook, are edible and very nutritious. Harvest the seeds in late fall after they have matured and dried in the field. First dry the seed clusters if they are still moist. Then the seeds must be separated from the chaff by rubbing in your hands and then winnowing, which is difficult because the seeds are so light. After this is done they can be boiled the same way you would cook any other grain. You can also grind them and cook them as a mush.

@janicerigsbee4129 Blacks erroneously claim Blackfoot. Just Bcuz Blackfoot has the word black in Blackfoot they think it means Blackfoot are black Indians so to blacks it must mean that blacks erroneously belong to the Blackfoot nation..🤣🤣 so suddenly millions of blacks across the nation R claiming Blackfoot.🤣🤣

My grand father came from Osawatomie, Kansas. I came up here to learn more about the Choctaw that were copper colored. At least the food looks yummy. My dad showed us how to make corn meal mush and other dishes. Anyways...I won't ever know much about my lineage because of so much historical "whitewashing". I truly don't mean this in a bad way. I just would like to know who I came from, and no all copper colored Americans were not kidnapped from Africa or anyplace else. We have been here even before Mensa musa made his voyage. God bless everyone.

@@Chodie4Life Blacks (A.A) never lived here until imported here by Whites. Blacks DNA is L1, L2, not ABCDX, Choctaw & N.A.s have. Blacks L1, L2 DNA proves A.A. originate N Africa from Sub-Saharan Nigerian, Igboo, Congo African nations. Blacks call URselves black instead of Nigerian, so blacks grow up thinking U aren't Nigerian.

@JomoDaMusicMan The gov't dont call any group of N.A. '$5 Indian'. Only racist blacks call N.A. that. N.A. R born N.A. & parents didn't give $5 to the Dr. when their baby was born. Even Choctaw who have 1/4 Choctaw blood & look white R born N the tribe, they didn't give Choctaw nation $5. $5 Indian were a small group of white men 120 yrs ago whose both parents were white, with zero Indian blood. I heard they had 2 give the land back but they ended up getting free Indian land without having 2 pay $5 for it anyway, when they participated N the 1889 Okla. Land Rush where 50,000 whites got free Indian land. Even black freedmen got 160 of Indian land 4 free. The 5 civilized tribes lost 2 million acres of land.

@@Chodie4Life When are blacks going to start understanding that Choctaw is a nation, like United States is a nation, consisting of many different shades of people, from white to tan, to brown, to dark brown and to Chocolate, just like the United States. Choctaw isn't a black nation, they are a Native American nation. Blacks just can't understand this.
