total respect for how far their fingers bend. tried it.....i can only make my fingers straight or forward like a fist. def not meant to be a thai dancer
If you want fingers like that you have to start bending from when you were really young( 5 and up) because that's when the bone is still soft. If you bend it when your a teenager or an adult, it's going to hurt like hell, and it'll take forever.
When I was younger and did Thai dancing regularly but now I can’t bend my fingers like this. I wanna learn more about my motherland more and try to learn the language too. Asian language is extremely hard to learn. And lemme tell you the gold head pieces are heavy as shit not fun but very beautiful. The silk dresses are amazing and I wish I could wear it everyday. I had a custom silk dress when I was little and I want to go back to Thailand and get a new custom dress. When I was adopted and had malnourishment issues they told my adoptive parents to only raise me with the English language instead of both Thai and English and they regret not letting me learn at a young age. Recently I’ve been trying to learn more about my heritage. I am mostly Thai but I’m also Austronesian which I’ve never heard of and small amount of Chinese. My family was shocked to see no Filipino, no Vietnamese, and no Indonesian at all.
Aquí le respondo yo que soy de centro América, la verdad me encanta los bailes, tienen unos bailes tan bellos tan diferentes, únicos, y los respeto mucho 🤗❤️@@poornamainkar1642

@@WTF-gc5fz how? no offense but i think they have the same root just like a few indonesian, malaysian, singaporean, and brunei's dances that pretty simillar cause they have the same root... i think..........
The first show is Srivijaya dance which is an ancient Empire in Indonesia, Malaysia and Southern Thailand. No wonder why it’s similar style as in Java. Srivijaya dance inspired from the Burobudur in Indonesia and the temple in Suratthani, Thailand.
As a Indian I see lot of similarities in all of south east asian culture they got lot of hindu-buddist influence even in the temples of india, nepal, shri lanka we see hindu-buddist influence all hindu gods and buddha together
This is because all these countries were part of Akhand Bharat and so they have somehow same philosophy and culture. The science behind the day to day life style which was learned first in Akhand Bharat (including Thailand Malaysia Indonesia India Myanmar etc. etc.) also spread in the world only because new countries were came into existence and they spread their holdings everywhere.
A year ago I had been there, thaiculture is so amazing, traditionally very rich.I was much impressed up on golden temple of Buddha. we really missed reclining Bddh temple complex becz thre maitences work is going on.titally it is wonderful trip I ever remeber.hf koti. rtd engr India
In India we have 8 types of classical dance.Visually Thailand dance is closest to Manipuri classical dance form. These faministic elegant moves in classical dance form in India,South-East Asia & Buddhist Dunhuang dance of China originated form Odissi dance form (Eastern part of India).Contrary to another old classical dance Bharatnatyam which is masculine & stiff.
To disclaimers. It's called *exchange in culture* Admit the fact that traditional dances and dresses across Asia, especially Cambodia and Laos, are similarly alike. Some of our (Thais) dressings are similar to Apsara because we adapt it. However, that's not our traditional dressings. You can clearly see the differences between Thai TRADITIONAL dressings to our neighbors. Thailand now have a wide range of traditions and cultures; Apsara dance is very famous in school sports day shows and openings among the senior years. Some Thais believes in Mother Kali which I believe it's originated from India. We are not claiming the dances to our but in the opposite, we're pleased with our neighbors dances so we want to introduce it to the society we lived in today.
oriental beauties and just amazed makes my afternoon truly delightfull even the rain is unpredictable sometimes it rains hard, suddenly a little bit of sunshine ... 03 August current year ... i like to write thank you in Thai language but ... since filipina and thailander plays volleyball together like sisters, then salamat
Wno have been to Thailand before ? i went to thailand with my family when i was a young girl and when i grow up i went with my mum my sister and my grandma
Thailand,Lao,Cambodia used to be the same territory until war. The same religion. let's not fight where it originated from. It was probably India. India had a lot of cultural influence in southeast asia
India didn't exist. The culture originated in the Ganga plains and traveled down to Tamil region and then eventually reached Java and then the Khmer and Mons
I live in Minnesota and I REALLY REALLY REALLYYY want to try and go to a class where they teach me how to dance like this. If anyone knows a place in Minnesota where they teach us this. PLEASEEEEE let me know ASAP. Thank you.
It’s “ระบำศรีชัยสิงห์” or “Sri Jayasingh dance”. The dance was created from the ruin temple of Mueang Singh in Kanchanaburi province, Thailand. It’s a temple complex in the same style of Angkor Wat in Cambodia. And sure it’s the Angkor art before Khmer born and trying to claim everything as their.
Thailand was influenced by Indian Theravada buddhism since Siam Dvaravati period in the 6th century. Instead of Khmer Angkor was influenced by Indian hinduism in 9th century.
I used to study with my history teacher. He said that Siam has not the basics of culture from a historical period. Siam began its civilization in 13 centuries. with Khmer civilization too.
@@made-in-thailand99 let's see the true history. I no mean I am Khmer or not because when I was born, I didn't know that I'm Khmer or not but education taught me. Don't study your history for King Rama IV or after the military revolution in 1932 a lot. It looks like Imagined History.
Most people here are trying to give a History lesson yet cannot even write a sentence correctly. Thailands History is very old, Ayutthaya was once one of the greatest cities on Earth, the Portuguese saw it and called it the Golden city, almost a million people lived in the Region. That is a Civilisation.
Well, our steps on our folk dances are only adopted from another country and Thailand's folk steps were adopted in India By the way, I love your folk dance😍❤️😍❤️
i had 2 dance classes at.. BHSC Spearfish. world class had a member show similar and story of meanings behind movements. my Swiss side did polka an waltz in appalachia , Lakota round dances, and now a dozen retired Thai teachers as FB frins i wish could go visit. Thought to tour world an view various dances...similarities in stories told?
Just look at it this way, no dance style comes from thin air. Thai classical dance was inspired by Khmer classical dances of Angkor, the belts, the costumes, the gestures, Khmer dance was inspired by an Indian classical dance during the Angkorian empire. Thai classical dance developed during Ayutthaya period, the period when Thais sacked Angkor and the Khmer empire fell in the 15th century, the Thais or Siamese brought the Khmer Harlem to Ayutthaya to help develop their cultural arts-during the time their tradition was probably more like northern Thailand or even Lao's. Thais called the Khmers Khom during this time although some deny that Khom and Khmer are one in the same. This is similar to how Ayutthaya fell at the hands of the Burmese and the Burmese brought back to Burma some Thai dances and traditions such a Khon, however this same thing happened when the Thai victors brought back Khmer dancers from Angkor but some Thais won't admit they did the same thing to the Khmers that the Burmese did to them. They won a war and brought back the power's traditions to their royal courts. As Khmer dances were modified and softened to become more of a Thai dance, still telling old Hindu stories from Angkorian times although they're Buddhist, gestures the same but softened, The Khmer empire began to weaken from the 15th-19th century, Khmer kingdom or Cambodia then became a vassal state to Thailand and Thais then brought this tradition back to Cambodia, now a modified Angkorian tradition, which now had an ensemble in the Thai language. This is why some say some modern Cambodian dances are Angkorian dances modified by Thais by a few generations. Why didn't this dance transition in Cambodia as most native dances normally would? Well, what happened to the dancers of Angkor? They were taken to Ayutthaya during the 15th century, Cambodians became Buddhists and stopped worshipping their Kings as Gods and stopped practicing much of their older traditions but remnants remain from Angkor. P.S the traditional Cambodian crown has 3-7 points, the Thai crown has 1 long point. When you see Khmers and Thais dancing with the long single pointed crown, that wasn't a costume during the Angkor era but a Thai style. Burma also had a similar style with their ancient temples.
@Niyorills Khom is only used in Thailand and no where else, no one else in reality and the world has ever known this term Khom. Khmer has always been and always was. We all know, at least educated people know, that Angkorwat exists in Cambodia, ornamented with countless Pali and yes ancient Khmer script itself, and ornamented with ancient dancers on its bas reliefs. You wont ever see Indian apsaras wearing the exact same crowns, Indian inspired ancient Khmer Realize that..only Indonesia wears similar crowns to Cambodians..and central Thais influenced by Khmer.
But you should know that before the Angkor period, Siam lived in the Dvaravati culture since 6th century. The stone sculptures shown that they have the music and dance before the Angkor culture yet. Ayutthaya was a heritage of Dvaravati-Angkor co culture which is route of Thailand since today. Khmer Cambodia has been a colonial of Siam more than 200 years and as you know the King Angduang of Khmer growth in the royal Siam court. Princess Bupphadevi who recreated Khmer dance said that they used Thai teachers for Khmer dance. So, we Thai always teach our children that Siam was influenced from many cultures since we are a diversity in cultures. We can preserve and support every culture around Thailand including the ancient Khmer dance in Surin, Thailand.
