Preheat your oven to 390f /200c
Ingredients:
1 + 1/4 cup Strong Flour
4 tblspn Caster Sugar
2 tblspn Mixed spice or All spice
1 tblspn Cinnamon
2 tsp Dried Yeast
1 tsp Salt
Zest of 1 Lemon
1 + 1/4 cup of Warm Buttermilk or regular milk will do
5 tblspn melted Butter
1 Egg
2 tblspn Golden Syrup
Mix all dry ingredients together.
Mix all wet ingredients.
Add dry to Wet
Process
knead for 10 mins
allow to proof for 90 mins.
Repeat Process.
Split into 10 equal balls and place on a lined baking sheet.
proof once more for 90 mins.
take 75g of flour and gradually add water to make a toothpaste consistency.
pipe a cross on each bun.
Bake for 15-18 mins at the preheat temp.
Once cooked brush with Golden Syrup.
