Traditional Potato Salad with Hugh Jackman - Martha Stewart 

Wow, Hugh Jackman in the kitchen, that's amazing. And the potato salad looks good too.

I have been watching potato salad videos all weekend and find it fascinating how many variations there are. Martha's recipe has dried mustard instead of prepared (I would have guessed Martha used Dijon mustard, lol) and red bell pepper, which I haven't seen before. Thinning the dressing with hot water seems a little risky, like the mayo might "break." I was a little surprised to learn some people put sugar in their dressing, which sounds really awful to me. A few had olives in their potato salad which would never have occurred to me, either. To each their own. My potato salad is russet potato, hard cooked eggs, onion, celery, dill pickle, sometimes a little radish if on hand because my mom made it that way. Dressing is Hellmann's mayo, a dollop of sour cream, a dash of Dijon mustard, a splash of pickle brine, chopped fresh chives and parsley, salt/pepper. Not too much added salt as the pickle brine is already salty.

We can see how much the guests on the show have changed over the years but Martha never changes #fountainofyouth

we call it russian salad in my country Turkey and we serve it cold.sometimes u can add little yoghurt in too.

I would have much rather enjoyed watching Hugh Jackman making the potato salad as Martha peeled the potatoes. I mean, she did plenty of that behind bars, right? Hehe!

Me and departed family members may not be the only ones who liked our potato salad: potatoes; mayo/sour cream/yogurt/mustard mix; dill pickles, cukes, celery, scallions, parsley, and stuffed green olives. Paprika and coarse ground pepper for garnish. Capers, too, if you have any. Never leftovers when brought to any gathering; go figure. Mom also garnished with hard boiled egg slices, but I don't.
