Great review, I got me the pro 575 last November just love the room inside I cooked a 22Lb turkey for thanksgiving with no problems. I love it and i paid $600.00 for mine at Home Depot.
Great review mate, im from Adelaide, South Australia a long way from you. I am about to buy a pellet grill and was looking into Trager. I was weighing up the old model or the new 575 I think I will go the new, your review was great. The pill shape and the wifi and the reversing aug seem to be awesome.i have also heard the recipie on the app are good as well. Cheers from down Under🍻🍻🍻🍻
I am considering between this and a Weber propane grill. I love the idea of using wood pellets for extra flavoring. I have two questions I am hoping you can answer. If using this as a grill instead of a lower heat smoker can you cook burgers easily, and can you get nice grill marks on a steak? Awesome video!
Hexfyre thanks for reaching out!!! I sold my propane grill since I’ve gotten my traegers; I do burgers steaks everything! Burgers take about a half hour and I do get grill marks on steaks. Check out my Instagram @triple6grill and message me there I’d love to help!
@Hexfyre - I'm in the same boat. I've had Weber and Char-Broil propane grills, a basic Weber charcoal 'smokey Joe'... and need a new grill. I live in LA - so I only have the space for 1 grill. I've considered a propane Weber, a Big Green Egg, and now this Traeger 575 Pro. I'm thinking the Traeger would be a nice compromise between the Weber propane (most convenient) and the Big Green Egg (potentially 'best' in terms of heat retention and flavor, but easily the most hassle).
Roger Reading if your going on higher heat it’s very very subtle; also if you use alder wood it’s a lot more subtle; the lower and slower you go and the stronger the wood the more smoke flavour
Great review mate, thanks. Helps me form a purchase decision. I’m looking at either the 575 or the 34! Any comments on whether the space may be a little too small on the 575? Especially compared to the grill space on the 34?
I had 2 treaters in 2 years 1 was the pro 575 ,I had the same problem with both temp wouldn’t go below 230 . Had a long talk with the treager rep finally got my money back.never again with treager
ripem m sorry to hear that; I have 9 “Traegers” and they all work exactly the way they should. Low and slow is no problem at all. Gettin em up to 450 or 500 on newer models is easy as pie! Sorry you had those issues..... cheers 🍻
I've read and heard the traeger has a real hard time keeping temps, and it cooks waaaay hotter than the temp probe shows. I've gone with GMG because of what I've heard and read. The 575 is nice, but seems to have quite a few issues.
I’m glad your having good luck with your grill; however I feel those claims could be false as I have a few of these grills. None have had any issues and I am not even kidding. No fluctuations or anything. I really love all my pro series grills. But am happy your enjoying grilling! That’s what it’s all about. No matter the brand 💪🏼💪🏼
Also living in Canada I am picking up the Pro 575 do you think it will have issues in the cold winter? (digital display, heating etc.) awesome video!! thks
Jason Smith it should have no problems as I know traeger tested it in the extreme cold and the timer line had the digital screen for a few years and lots of buddies up here have that and no issues...your gunna love the 575
Ever have any of the temp issues that are widely talked about with this new model? From what I can find on the forums a new firmware update was able to resolve most peoples issues.
Cory Sloan I never had any issue with temp ever; I guess I was one of the lucky ones. Cuz I’ve been asked that a lot. But I use that baby daily and have since I got it and have had zero issues #FingersCrossed lol
Hi, i’m considering buying a new Traeger Pro 575. My question is is how does it run in the winter I live in Michigan. So after using yours for a while in the winter up there in Canada
Deal right now on for the Pro 22 for 765.00. Don't really need the WIFi and don't cook much in the winter. Your thoughts on the Pro 22 or waiting for the Pro 575
I love my pro 22!! But the main advantage for the pro 575 is that D2 motor. Gets to temp faster, holds temp better; better pellet consumption as well. But that being said if the pro 22 is the right price...GET IT!!!!! I use both all the time!!!
Lucas Miller so so welcome; just flick the button on the back of the hopper and it should update overnight and then try it; if still not working call 1-800-traeger and they will fix it ;)
I bought an Ironwood 885 and it would hardly produce any smoke.. I mean virtually none. It would only smoke when first firing up and I had it on super smoke mode. I returned mine. I really wanted to like it. I wonder if some of the other models make more smoke.
If you can see heavy smoke that is not a good thing; you don’t want to see white smoke. You want a thin thin barely seeable blue smoke. That’s called clean smoke. White heavy smoke is filled with creosote and is very bad for you. The traeger burns very clean and produces a great amount of thin blue smoke. I have 9 different models and they all produce that beautiful smoke I love ;) if you get a chance please give them another shot. I love mine ;)
Zama hard to say but I love the taller barrel, the fast recovery when opening the lid is great and wifire is seriously amazing haha ugh I guess what I’m trying to say is YESSSSS! I’m a huge fan! Loved the pro 22 but this is a step above ;)
Would this be an ideal model to start off with if you are new to smoking or never owned a smoker before? They have some in Edmonton right now and definitely interested in buying one. My only worries is the cold weather cause I’d like to get year long use. I noticed they don’t have many accessories for it either like the insulated blankets.
Go Oilers yes it would be an Awesome first smoker!!!! It’s amazing and they will have more accessories very soon!!! But this model actually does really well in the cold! I tested it in Saskatchewan and it rocked! Message anytime for any specific info!!!!
Triple 6 Grill awesome thanks man. I guess my only other question is do you think it’s built fairly well/ seem strong and durable? I’ve seen them in person and they seem like it’s a great build but I’ve heard the only knock on them is they are built overseas, do you think these hold their own against smokers built in the North America?
Go Oilers they may be manufactured in China but I swear I have threw them in some rough tests and they handle it no probs! Been solid as heck for me! Ask away!!!!
I have the 575 and I have tried different smoke pellets and cooked many of tri-tips and I cannot taste smoke on the meat. Any tips would be appreciated!
Matt Donaldson for a Tritip I go at like 180-225 degrees and I use a harsher traeger pellet like hickory and for for one hour to like 115 internal ; rest and crank grill and reverse sear and I do get good smoke flavour; however you do get way more smoke flavour on a longer smoke on a bigger piece of meat like brisket and ribs and pork butt than a steak ;)
What that to be my first smoker wondering what is the lowest temp you can use those puppy's with of out getting error messages. Cheers and greetings from Cowtown Alberta lol.
Hey boss!! In summer with no wind/great weather you can go down to 165° but in winter or windy days I recommend 180° being lowest so you don’t error out :)
@@maiktondeur2228 absolutely! Yes main thing is to have any kind of a wind break. Wind affects them more than anything. But I use the pro 575 12 months a year in sask ;)
I recently bought the pro 575. Don't know what i'm doing wrong tried all sorts of Traeger pellets. I'm just not getting any smoke flavor. A buddy of mine has the Pro 22 and it delivers a great smoke flavor. Any ideas? Iv watched tons of videos and went by the books. No smoke flavor.
Lee Wolf hmmmm I definitely haven’t found that to be an issue; I also have a pro 22 and pro 34 and ironwood and timberline and I get equal smoke outta this pro 575; I go at 200 degrees for most my cooks at the start and I use a blend of hickory and cherry pellets and I truly love the flavour; I’m so sorry your having that issue
Have you noticed any problems with yours? myself and alot of others have been getting large temp swings when setting under 200F, and the grill only hitting 350F when the controller is saying 450F?
Will Palmer hey boss! I myself haven’t really done any cooking under 225 with the unit as that’s my general temp for almost everything and as for getting hot I have a separate thermometer inside and when set at 450 it is up there between 430-450 for me
Will Palmer if your having issues I’m sure others are to and you should talk to traeger and there probably is an update or fix I’m sure! Thanks so much for the comment and sorry I couldn’t help more on that issue
I live London, Ont and just bought a new 575...when I use my Maverick pit probe, I am about 50F to 60F different up to about 350 and then at max of 450 my Mav reads 335...over 100F different
How do you get the 575 to put out consistent smoke. At 250 I don’t really see visible smoke for very long. Is this typical? It’s my first pellet smoker.
