How funny I just bought me a Traeger pro 575 and seen your video for assembly. I got to say I got the same pit boss grill that you got in the corner there,
Got the 456d and love it no issues, however like you I wanna all the WiFi stuff and I wanna have one just big enough to do a full size turkey but not much bigger, Iv been told to check out the Rec Tec but still not sure, can’t wait to see your feedback on this one, no matter what I get I’ll keep using the 456d for small cooks
Thanks for the feedback rob. Hopefully my review will help you decide. Need to do a few more cooks on it but so far I've done brisket ribs and chicken. The wifi is nice because you can monitor temps and the big thing is being able to ADJUST temperature on your phone, but I'm not sure when/if I would use that unless it's to turn it way down if it's overcooking. Gotta live and play with it a bit more to figure out the value
@@SmokeTrailsBBQ thanks! Mine got delivered yesterday and haven’t had time to assemble it. I did open the lid and assumed a seal would be somewhere in the box. Do you notice much smoke leak from the sides of the lid or is it pretty minimal?
BUYER BEWARE: You won't be able to install the front folding shelf for this unit. I have the same unit. There are four (4) screws-two on the left and two on the right side of the grill, just almost even with the opening. The two screws at the left have a none removable locking nut of some kind that does not come off. On the right side, only one screw comes out. The other one has one of those locking nuts on it. However, there is a sheet metal liner (at 12:25) that is none removable which makes it impossible to access the screw with the lock nut. Follow me here. I called Traeger Tech support and after almost two hours on the phone and 6 photos emailed. They just did not get it and their fix, they are sending me a free impact wrench...WTH. I do not think Treager knows about this because no one has complained. I am going back to Home Depot to look at other floor models to see if they have that liner on the right side where the hopper is. I'm not sure if that side gets too hot for the electronics or what the purpose of that liner is. You can see it in your video at 12:25. So it really sucks that I have to return this unit or re-engineer it myself so I can have the shelf.
I love watching these every once in a while nice video but your knee pads are on upside down .The round cup should be over your knee not below your knee
