IF you're locked in a family that their morals are different from yours it can be hell. I learned to push away but the memory was locked because I didn't want to believe it until I was much older since that happened at 14. Later developed my mind to pull away but I was in a sense a slave to work normal jobs to support my mother who was a narcissistic sociopath. It was hard not to feel responsible for her lack of education but I continue to struggle until I finally got out at 28 and got a loan and eventually left my family to have a better life and did.
