When you think of how fast Anthony had to step in after his father's passing you begin to understand why he asked those odd questions during his 'interviews': "If your daughter had a penchant for overspending, how would you deal with that?" or "Do you read?" (which I hardly think is a terrible question but the show made it look scandalous lol). Anthony isn't just looking for a woman that can look good. He wants a woman capable of stepping in and holding down the fort if he were to die whilst the eldest son is too young to pick up the duties of Viscount. I love Violet but she was of no use to her son not just because she was so deep in grief, but also because she had no idea what to do even if she wasn't decapitated by grief. At least Anthony had a bit of training but what if his future son is too young when he dies?
Loving your reactions-new to your channel but loving these already (watching them to prep for Season 3). As someone who experiences panic attacks, I’d like to thank Jonathan Bailey for portraying one so accurately. And then Kate placing his hand on her heart and vise versa was an excellent grounding technique (my therapist suggests if you’re panicking, place your hand on your pulse to remember you’re okay). I was so moved.
I do believe that this was my favorite episode of the season🤔? Loved how Anthony heads STRAIGHT to Kate @7:20 and doesn't even recognize the pull of attraction. Loved Daphne in the background covertly watching them interact. Brilliant observation😂!!! 7:55 Poor Violet grieving her husband and probably dealing with postpartum depression as well.
The gravitational pull was too much! Really liking Daphne this season, being the only sibling to experience real love she can see the signs between Anthony and Kate💜 feel very sad for Violet, she needed mental help (although that definitely would not have been there for her in these times) but I felt worse for Anthony. Not being able to grieve for his father, having to take on a new role, worrying about his depressed mother and potentially having to raise the other siblings while she was checked out, all while still a teenager himself🥺
@@TheCornerverse Indeed. Thank you for responding and an excellent response it was. Indeed Anthony aka Johnny Bailey was brilliant conveying his grief in this episode!
I'm just hoping that no one will ever tell Hyacinth about the doctor telling Anthony to make the choice over whether to save her or their mother, I wouldn't want her to go through life knowing that.
This was such a great episode and I really enjoyed your reaction. I so envy that you two are experiencing this season for the first time. I liked season one but what I love about this season is that it focuses on the self growth of the characters, and how Anthony and Kate in particular learn and grow to get to a place to accept the love they deserve. Buckle up though because it is beautiful and twisty ride.
22:53 Maybe and say maybe because you two are women, you still don't understand the role that Anthony had as Viscount. You said give Anthony time to grieve but the thousands of lives that depend on his decision won't stop living when someone dies. Remember in season one when the Duke returned to his home in the country all the things that he had neglected? 2) The scene where Kate puts Anthony's hand on her chest was so far-fetched, only a woman of color could get away with doing that. In the book, when the bee stung Kate, Anthony tried to suck the poison out of the bite. I mention this to say that Kate's action was against everything we have learned what a lady would ever do in a public setting that it defied logic.
