Trail cam video from Tucson, Arizona

These are some of the visitors to the small water pond I have maintained in my desert yard in Tucson for more than 30 years. The video was recorded on a Bushnell trail cam during June 2014, and features javelina, deer, coyotes, screech owls and (spoiler alert) a bobcat! I just knew there had to be a bobcat around, but I haven't seen one in years. Sweet.
2018 update: First, thanks for all the nice comments. Second, although I am completely baffled by the need to stipulate this, there are no Bigfoots in this or any other of my videos.

Life if hard for any wildlife today. Thx for providing this act of kindness for them. I enjoyed seeing the beautiful creatures.

Today? Actually easier today. It's much easier to find wild animals near human habitation than it is far out away from towns. More food, more fresh water, more places to make a home, more chances to find a mate etc.
@Mistted
@Mistted 4 года назад
@@porkchopspapi5757 The thing is humans have got rid of most natural predators, brought invasive precies into the land and pushed the rest to smaller and smaller areas. It's all about how to define "hard life". For some species it's definitely much easier to go by, but so many have gone nearly or completely extinct. It's all about balance that we now have to control, like without hunting certain animal populations would just go nuts and destroy everything. In some areas it's better and in some much worse.
@florenlebaron524
@florenlebaron524 3 года назад
True, loss of habitat and other situations are making it difficult for wild animals, that's why extinction is increasing even faster.

This is so wonderful...a place where all critters can come, cool their feet, quench their thirst...making them feel better to go about their day not fearing where they can find such an important live giving resource. How so fantastic you did this for them... And they in return grace you with their presents ... hope others will build such things... perhaps put out a salt lick too?

i take my hat off to you for such a termendous act of kindness by providing precious water to these animals. we often forget how valuable water really is, especially in the desert. for me the nature sounds and watching them was worth it. Lord bless you for your kindness.

My mother lived in Tucson for many years in the Catalina foothills and she tended to this same suburban menagerie with food and water. It was fun to visit and see the desert wildlife. Roadrunners were a favorite. They would come take ground beef from my hand! She volunteered at the Desert Museum and was a great interpreter for the easterners visiting. Nice memories thanks.

This is a beautiful sight that most people don`t ever get a chance to see. I really wish more people were appreciative of our animal neighbors like you obviously are. My husband and I passed by a large family(12 or so) of wild pigs on the side of I-75 in Florida where we live, which started a conversation about how the development of land here is out of control there is hardly any undeveloped land around for all the different species we have. Yet there are soo many buildings lying vacant. Your video will hopefully trigger something in the right people to help fight to set aside land everywhere for our voiceless neighbors, this planet is their home also. Thank you soo much for providing them this oasis, by the way very impressed with how clean you are able to keep the water !
