Trail to Pinehurt with Sidewinders 

George (Geo) & Lisa led on their rear-wheel steering Sidewinder trikes.
They are part of a Lizard group of riders, and they each have some lizard mascot on the front of their trikes. Very fun duo these two are to ride with.
Do not see many Sidewinder recumbent trikes in use. The trike is steered by the rear wheel, and they have levers in which to turn or not - no handlebars.
Sidewinders can turn on a dime. Had seen Lisa performing some maneuvers when riding behind her that was interesting to watch, as no other trike can turn so easily. Not sure if the video captured her doing an in-land turn.
They have a home-built powered assisted-motor on the back that pushes them forward, powered by three batteries connected in some fashion.
In turn gave me an idea of mounting spare batteries on a Wike Cycling Trailer, and have a wiring harness lead up to the main connectors with the other spare batteries I have already. Best to use XT-90 connectors for the battery connections.
Then one would have to make a cover over the batteries on a trailer to shield them from direct sun and other elements, yet you also want ample air flow to cool the batteries. Fairly easy to do. And, if you had the ability, could also add solar cells to cover the upper portion of the trailer - angled so as to keep the panel(s) from building up dust, other debris, and water if caught in the rain. You would want this as a self- cleaner option with the air speed to help along your journey.
Unsure if there are switches or controllers that can be used to keep the various batteries in harmony with one another, or have the connector(s) numbered to swap manually. Then recharge the spent or heavily used battery to the solar panel charging system.
And lastly the cost of the batteries would be the biggest drawback due to their cost. Still, am letting the idea known in case other companies or enterprising individuals to create projects and perhaps offer them for sale or to share as well.
