Have a 2015 ram 2500 fuses are good, ground is good, what am I missing, I just replaced the wiring and new break lights. Thing is when I hook it up to my gmc sierra it works like normal
Hello. I have a rv trailer 5th wheel that I have turn signals and brake lights, but no running lights when hooked to truck. I am able to hold 10 amp fuse to battery positive terminal and running lights terminal and then they all work. I have checked with two trucks, same result. (the trucks are both newer) and I have upgraded trailer battery from original lead acid to lithium with all other battery powered items working. I am baffled. Do you have any suggestions you might offer me? Thank you
I have a 12' PJ utility trailer that on drivers side the front running light on trl. and the running light on its front fender do not light up with two different vehicles. All the other running lights work on that side and other side including rear lights function. Do I have a ground problem or wire problem? Any advice?
@@thomasfixit7931 Yes the very front drivers side marker light and the front marker light on the wheel well fender don't work. But the DS rear wheel well marker light on fender and DS rear marker light and ALL the other lights work. So 6 total out of the 8 side lights and all of the other rear lights and blinkers work.
@@thomasfixit7931 the problem persists after checking those first places. The posts on the battery were not corroded, but I am wondering if the battery is not the right size for the vehicle. Would a battery that is not the correct size affect the running lights? I just inherited the truck so I playing catch up on maintenance to the truck.
I'm having the same problem but it's not my battery and I checked all the fuses and everything else on. My trailer hooks up properly. And when I hooked it up to my cousin's truck. Everything worked like it's supposed to. It's just my running lights are not working on my trailblazer kinda stumped and about to wire running lights to a power source no omms on just that pin
If the fuse is good, check the running light wire on your trailblazer. You can follow it back from the plug with a test light until you find the break in the wire.
Thanks, this happened to me while I was traveling today, suddenly the running lights and trailer brakes stopped working for no apparent reason, but I still had tail lights and directionals. (Not sure if I have brake lights, since I'm traveling solo and couldn't press the brake and check the back of the trailer at the same time.) Since this is a new-to-me setup of 1971 travel trailer and 2012 Subaru Forester with aftermarket brake controller, I'm bringing it to a truck place first thing tomorrow to have them look at it. I feel lucky I was able to get an appointment, and I'll mention these things to them. Then when my heart stops pounding, I'll find out where my fuses are located in this vehicle. Thanks!
Like to hear what your problem is when you figure it out. Sometimes you can have a brake in the wire where the trailer wires connect to the trailer plug wires
@@thomasfixit7931 I may have found at least part of it. When I got to my next campground today, one of the wedding cake tail lights is falling off the back. I told the guy who did the work on it originally that silicone and caulking do not stick to aluminum but he didn’t listen. I’ve already had to get it resealed with putty tape a new J rail. Now I need to find a trailer place that will work on a vintage trailer like tomorrow as I make my way to New England for my nephews graduation. I think I may have, fingers crossed.
