-Welcome to the Sleep Ranch! We are located in the Northern Black Hills on the South Dakota/ Wyoming border where our ancestors settled and started ranching in 1883.
I (Carson) work alongside my parents, Jeff and Jodi, our ranch hand, Jaques, my wife, Damaris who also works as a nurse in town, and our son Silas! We have friends and family who come along very frequently as well!
We run a cow/calf operation where we summer our cattle on the Black Hills National Forest and winter them in the foothills of the Black Hills. We also have a backgrounding feedlot, and grow alfalfa and grass hay.

I am so grateful that you posted all of this adventure Carson. At no time in history have we needed the general public to truly see what ranch family life is REALLY all about, our connection to the land and our animals... all of it. Great fall round up. Loved the drone shots, so beautiful brought me to tears. This is what family is all about. Working together and making generational memories. What you guys do is so great and we appreciate being brought along for the ride, so to speak. I think it was 6 or 8 of you pushing 200 head. Makes me think of the early drives from down here to Kansas, etc. 2,000-3,000 head pushed by 10 or 12 cow hands. I don't know how they did it. I guess just one mile at a time.

As i watched everyone working together along with Damaris and your Silas and grandma and her grandchildren in the side by side , I was just grining and in awe, also watching the drone footage. Hi Carson, thanks for this great video of rounding up the cows out of the hills. It is great that you can all work together with your family out in such a beautiful setting. Really enjoyed the drone footage with the music and seeing all the action from above and the fall colors of the changing leaves. Looks like the cattle enjoyed the water break to cool off a little and get a drink. Cute footage of your nieces and nephews enjoying their time riding along in the side by side.
